So, I have a fear of flying :(
Problem is, I study abroad, so basically have to fly once per month.
the recent Malaysian airline incident(god bless them) just makes the whole thing worse for me.
anyone got the same problem?

Apparently you have better odds of getting struck in the peener by lightning multiple times than dying in a plane crash.

If you're of age, get the stewardess to serve you a stiff one. Also, I would recommend googling some helpful breathing exercises, as they're capable of soothing the brain...

The thing about flying that causes fear is the loss of control. Your life is in the hands of fate and you just have to trust that the plane is in good shape and the pilot knows what he's doing. You're much more likely to die in a car yet most of us feel safer in a car because we're in control, or at least we feel like we are. Also, surviving a car accident is much more probable than surviving a plane crash.

I just say a little prayer and have a few strong drinks before and during the flight. On longer trips I like to log on to the flight tracker. For some reason I find knowing all the details about the flight (current location, altitude, speed, etc) makes me feel more secure.

Just keep yourself distracted , watch a movie do something..... Btw you shouldn't be scared because there is a reallyyyyy small chance almost 0% chance of a plane crash , its almost like dieing from riding a bike in the park

I have fear of flying as well, and it's one of those things I can't get rid of even though I'm fully aware it's completely irrational. Can't rationalize this feeling away.
