Why are these even grouped together? Westbrook is terrible at finishing but the most athletic.

The best finisher is probably that dude Kyrie Irving. Most naturally gifted at it. Just lacks leadership/discipline to ever be an all time great. :facepalm

You almost certainly have to go with Chris Paul. He has everything you'd want in a point guard. Westbrook has the athleticism, but he's not nearly as efficient, as good of a passer and makes too many boneheaded plays.

If Rondo is able to develop a more reliable jumpshoot he could realistically challenge Paul as the best PG in the game, but as of now CP3 is the way to go.

You don't watch him very much, do you?:oldlol:

Being a good dunker doesn't make you a good finisher. For every great dunk, he misses 10 layups. Dude has terrible touch around the rim. Terrible.

Sure he can be listed as one but is it his natural position? No, he doesn't really play like one, he is more of a fill-in PG

No one said he was terrible or below average. His touch is terrible and below average.

being 6 foot 3 and insanely athletic makes him above average by default I guess. His aggression and athleticism allows him a lot more opportunities but his finishing rate sucks.

Not a stat guy. I watch the games. Just confident that the stats will back me up.

Moreover, many sites aren't loading correctly on my laptop. I'm doing a scan right now and trying to get rid of this pesky malware. Google ****ing up.

Navy will provide the facts. Ironically, he's a part of my Army against casual fans. :pimp:

I take offense to "Finishing at the rim/athleticism"

best PG in terms of finishing around the basket has been Tony Parker for years. It's not because of crazy hops or athleticism, it's because he's got MOVES. Dragic is great around the cup too because he's creative and crazy

Defense does matter though, everyone seems to talk about only offense when it comes to point guards.

What does pure passing really mean? Statistically, Paul is the best and it's not particularly close.

Micku
03-10-2014, 09:25 PM
Westbrook is terrible at finishing but the most athletic.

Yeah, Westbrook is pretty bad at finishing this year. He is only shooting about 53% in the restricted area, so he isn't that good at finishing. And when he was healthy, he actually was never been elite like Tony Parker at finishing at the rim and he wasn't as good as Chris Paul either. But CP3 drives less often than Westbrook. Even Jeremy Lin finish better than Westbrook as well. But you can say that Westbrook drives more often than all of those guys.

But Westbrook is actually a very good midrange shooter tho to make up from his inability to finish this year. He's elite at it with Tony Parker and CP3.

Rondo is a really great passer, very flashy and hard to predict

CP3 is steady, creative, and patient. He lets it go at exactly the right moment.

Wall creates a metric shit-ton of 3 pointers....and those are worth more points! Not as patient or precise as Rondo or CP3, but his height opens up passing lanes those guys can't use as often.

coolhandsteve

Pure passing- Between Rondo & Paul
Ballhandling- Straight up, Paul..flashy, Irving
Shooting- Curry
Finishing at the rim- Parker, I marvel at how unstoppable he can be at this
Athleticism- Westbrook though Wall & Lillard are better (by that I mean more creative) dunkers
Defense- Rondo, Westbrook, Wall, Conley, Lowry, can't really go wrong with either of these.
