View Full Version : Why can't Kobe just admit he isn't coming back?

I don't know exactly what's going on with his knee but I'm pretty sure no one does, and no one does for a reason. As long as he and the organization can make it seem like he has this on-going, long-winded injury, he can save face and continue his reputation as one of the most driven people in sports. I do believe Kobe wants to play and that he is that driven, but even he knows when the writing is on the wall. There is nothing wrong with admitting his team is tanking and that his return would only serve to run up his all-time points and otherwise be completely useless.

kobe is already at full health and ready to come in and average 30/6/6 but the lakers cant make the playoffs and so they are tanking so they can win the championship next season

Because he might want to play a few games at the end of the season to get in game shape. I think by now he's obviously in shape to practice & play games, but he's not an idiot & he understands what a Wiggins/Parker would mean for the Lakers & his final 2 seasons, thus he's quietly sitting out the season, or at least long enough until we clinch a top 3-4 worst record to have a big chance of winning the lotto.
Kobe fractured his kneecap, which takes approximately 8 weeks to heal when it doesn't require surgery (which Kobe didn't), since it was most likely a stable fracture because he was able to finish the game without any issue and only came up on x-rays days after the game.
The fracture has long healed by now, it's a matter of Kobe not risking his health since the season is a waste, but I think he will try a few games at the end of the season if it doesn't affect our position in the lottery.

KObe is actually not injured. Silver has him suspended, under the guise of injury, for being a known rapist

Dude, Kobe knows exactly what he's doing. Obviously he wants to come back fully ready to compete. He's the mamba FFS. As in, he's a snake and snakes slither.

can Embiid transition to power forward?
Beverly
Harden
Parsons
Embiid
Howard
maybe they will take Marshall too if they want a more pass first guard for that line up.
