Same reason why CP3, Harden, and LeBron flop. Because they do whatever it takes to win, and they know they get away with it.

In a way the league creates these monsters.
Durant complains because he's so used to getting calls. When he doesn't he throws a tantrum.

Adjusting out the bs he gets every game, you probably need to reduce his PPG by 5-7.

Players who get to the line at a high rate always do this. Infact, this is in any sport. Players always want the refs to give them a call because they will do what it takes to win.

The thing that doesn't make sense to me, even though I kind of know why, is why Miami isn't even in the top 15 for FTAs when they live in the paint. If LeBron only scores on dunks and lay ups (according to people here), then you would think he would shoot more FTs. Even if it's just to stop him.

Take Durant and LeBron and give them both a push of the same power. It will be muuuuuuch more noticeable with Durant. Same way a foul works. Refs need to see LeBron bleed before they call a foul. Even then when Ibaka smacked him twice in the face and broke his nose they didn't call shit. :facepalm
LeBron is soo strong that the fouls that'd be called for the rest of the league don't seem obvious with him. Especially now that he's bulked up.

are the refs so stupid that they dont think contact bothers him like any other player??
if u drive in the paint with speed an then ur shooting hand gets hacked u could weight 400 pounds and it would bother you:facepalm

Superstars get superstar calls. It's always been like this since I could remember.
Are y'all new to watching the NBA?
Why is it a bad thing to draw a foul? You're trying to puts pts on the scoreboard and win.
You guys complain too much on here. As soon as the playoffs start the foul calling will go down for certain players and go up for others depending on the match up.

I'm a Rockets fan. I agree Durant complaints a shit ton about foul calls. With that said he's still a top 2 player in the league and he get you 35 without shooting a single FT.
:confusedshrug:
Can't deny he gets superstar treatment, just like Harden.

He is pretty much Paul George with worse defense. This is why I am still saying Melo > Durant. Melo gets bullied with no calls.

I can understand that but superstars were getting treated like this long before Durant...I see him complaining a lot but I dont see him selling contact or flat out flopping like others do(Lebron, Cp3 etc).
The guys length and height combined with his shooting ability are ridiculous, you gotta be in his jersey to have a chance of stopping him.
He shoots tech FTs and dudes are in the game thread complaining fs its becoming a joke.
Im not saying he doesnt get some bogus calls but you guys act like every foul is one, im not seeing many examples if that is the case.

I love KD, but the dude does flop and flail his arms like crazy.
KD >>>>>>>>>> PG. It's not even close. Melo does get EXTREMELY disrespected by the refs though. Still, KD >> Melo.

Except when he flails in the paint or just randomly dives to get a call. Durant is worse then LeBron at flopping, CP3 and Griffin are bad though.

He got 16 fts alone tonight, and last night, Heat and Wizards shot 18 fts combined. Durant still complained. Child nature!

Annoys me too. Did it start with MJ? All I know is that guys like Mikan, Wilt and Kareem had rules changed to make it more fair for the rest of the league. I don't know if they got superstar treatment when it came to foul calls. Maybe the focus wasn't on superstars back then, and only really became that as Stern wanted to make the NBA big time.
I get the marketing, but it still annoys me. Surely guys like MJ, Shaq, Lebron and Durant would still be great without beneficial treatment. And complaining all the time just looks bad. I don't care who does it.

players that drive the ball initiating contact generally draw less fouls when contacted than a player seeking to avoid the defender when driving when contacted... which is how it should be... guys like lebron and melo almost always initiate contact with the defender so the defender has the right to stand his ground, but guys like durant try to slither their way around contact and in most cases any contact made is initiated by the defender...
Also LLBJ averages more FT attempts for his career than durant are Bran fans seriously going to complain about this?..

4ppg decline in the playoffs... that is, the time of the year where BS calls are less frequent. Interesting.
Oh look, Lebron is at +3ppg.
