Underrated signing for them. A game changer on both ends of the floor.

Gasol is the relevant one actually.

Different system. Different team mentality.

Wasn't Gasol also out for the majority of the first 33 games? You know, their defensive anchor?

Getting rid of Bayless was good for them also.

Add to that the energy and defence of James Johnson and Mike Miller going ape shit from 3 and Calathas becoming more confident and having great passing games and Gasol returning and that explains the 23-8.

Yea. The Grizzlies are 28-13 when Gasol plays....10-13 without him. That is like a 56 win pace with Gasol. Lee has been nice, but I'd give most of the credit to Gasol. If they are healthy...they are going to be nightmare for someone in round 1.

Also, I think that it took the team a little time to adjust to the new coach's system. The older players seemed to have really liked Hollins.

Lee helps because he can shoot, and it opens up things more for the big 2 down low.. as opposed to TA, who is very limited offensively like Bruce Bowen was. Even Bruce Bowen was a better shooter than TA.

Lee's been really efficient, but yeah Gasol is a key part of the team. As is Conley. Those two anchor the team on both ends and the rest fill it out. There were a lot of injuries early in the season and those have settled down now.

If every one stays healthy it could be the best playoff run yet, because the lineup is the most versatile it's ever been. More shooting, and more depth off of the bench. So deep that players who deserve minutes can't get them. Which is rare being a Grizz fan to see that.

But all it takes is a key injury or a losing streak and they might not even make the playoffs. If they do, they'll be dangerous as they always are.

The "money ball" system seems to be working.

Good to see Courtney play well, was a big fan of him in Orlando and was hyped to see him in a celtics jersey, too bad he sucked

Gasol. Memphis is going to be scary in the first round.

interesting question, do you guys see memphis pulling an upset? I think they have a chance against the rockets and the thunder, would want to see them rematch with the clips though

I'd like to see a Grizzlies fan's perspective on Lee. I didn't really like him that much in Boston, he was a case of false advertisement to me.

Working for what? Memphis isn't winning the title.
