:( Am I the only one that would welcome him with open arms?

Melo, Plus a healthy Kobe(even a 80% Kobe), plus a Top 5 pick, plus a new coach would be dangerous.

Seems like Everyone is banking on Love coming in 2015... but what if Love doesn't come, and Lol @ getting Durant, kids to loyal to leave. If there's a chance at getting Melo why not take it?:confusedshrug: AMIRITE?

I'd like him on the Lakers, but I think he will stay in New York for the money.

How would a rookie be dangerous? Carmelo is good, but the Lakers need more than that to win.

How exactly would the Kobe-Melo duo work?

Teams aren't allowed to have 2 basketballs during a possession

He's going to Chicago. Or at least, he should.

Because that would be like already having leukemia and then wishing for lung cancer too.

They need to worry about what they're gonna do with the cancer they've already got before adding more.

plenty of laker fans have said they don't want melo cause that would mean no k love. anybody that would take love over melo should be shot point blank.

Yup. At this point i think the only one that wants him is Kobe, lol. Melo is too old and too expensive for a rebuilding team.

He'll be 30 going into next season is why.

The thing is His game is not built through athleticism. I think he can switch to 4 in this later stages of his career but you gotta have someone like Asik to anchor the defensive end. If I am the GM I would try to make this happen if Melo wants to come here.

The only reason is age. Otherwise its just sheep gobbling up what the mainstream media spew that you can't win with him.

If we offered him a contract he'd be 34 by the time it ended, I just think he's too old to build around, especially as he's never made the Finals before

We're not building around Kobe though. He's definitely overpaid and will be the worst contract in the NBA for those 2 years but he's not the one we are planning to win championships with as our centerpiece.

Because this really isn't a long term fix. Melo will be leaving his prime during that contract. He has also proven little to me that he can be a leader and lead a championship caliber team. You also really have to work with the roster to make it fit with him. I feel the Lakers are stuck in mediocrity with Melo leading the way.

Because they're used to winning.

The only reason that the shouldn't want Carmelo is because he's 30. Otherwise they just fall for the media bs that a team can't win with him. Lets put it this way every team should want Carmelo

It's a bit greedy, but I'd like the next face of the franchise to be a legitimate two-way player.
