I don't think it was unintentional though, just lucky. He does make a deliberate move to kick the ball. At first I thought he didn't.

Yeah I saw that too, but I believe he just wanted to elevate the ball over the defenders to have free field to the goal, but the ball hit his foot in way that it gained much more speed.
