Players and their comparisons...(In my opinion)

Joel Embiid - Hakeem Olajuwon

Andrew Wiggins - Poor man's Lebron James or Dominique Wilkins

Julius Randle - Young Al Jefferson?

Jabari Parker- Carmelo Anthony

Dante Exum - Penny Hardaway

Marcus Smart- Oscar Robertson/ Wade

Doug Mcdermott- Poor man's Larry Bird

Noah Vonleh- Reminds me of a slightly shorter but meatier Garnett

Pretty stacked draft if they live to their potential:pimp:

Nah. Nothing will beat 03 or 96. Some of those comparisons have me heated

Joel Embiid - Tim Duncan/Hakeem Olajuwon

Andrew Wiggins - DeMar DeRozan

Jabari Parker - Paul Pierce/Carmelo Anthony

Julius Randle - Poor man's Chris Webber

Marcus Smart - Better passing version of Dion Waiters(?)

Dante Exum - Penny Hardaway

Doug McDermott - Chandler Parsons

*I honestly couldn't think of a Marcus Smart comparison. He kinda moves like Waiters though so idk. Closest one I could think of

It will be better than both than 96 but not better than 03.

Carmelo, Wade and a potential GOAT in Lebron ain't no one that can top that; unless Wiggins becomes Kobe or something (which I doubt).

Nothing beats the class of 2000 and 2013. Future hall of famers everywhere

Joel Embiid - Tim Duncan/Hakeem Olajuwon

Andrew Wiggins - DeMar DeRozan

Jabari Parker - Paul Pierce/Carmelo Anthony

Julius Randle - Poor man's Chris Webber

Marcus Smart - Better passing version of Dion Waiter(?)

Dante Exum - Penny Hardaway

Doug McDermott - Rich man's Chandler Parsons
James Harden still sucks ass, but most of those are actually decent comparisons.

McDermott is nowhere near as athletic as Parsons, and Parsons isn't the shooter that McDermott is.

Wiggins should be better than Derozan.

How about a McDermott and Gordon Hayward comparison? Both can shoot the ball pretty well

That's a good one. I was thinking a tougher, rich man's Kyle Korver. Hayward and Parson have legit star potential, I don't know about McDermott.

In SAC's current position, we can get Randle or Vonleh. Wouldn't mind Vonleh for some defense

I think Exum and Boogie would be SICK. Poor man's Penny-Shaq?

Yeah it would be, we have to lose more games or someone else will take him first.

Hakeem? Poor man's Bird? Oscar? Poor man's Lebron?......

That's thinking way toooo high for some of them, even speculating about the highest expectations. Come back to earth man.
We'll see what happens though.

Its mainly media hype, there were much better drafts.

Not really. I think 1 or 2 players will become superstars in the future, but it's hardly living up to the hype when you heard about 5-6 elite players coming out of the draft, right now I see a bunch of solid role players/starters, a couple of decent all-star caliber players & one potential superstar.

This draft was getting underrated, but you don't want to go to the other extreme. You're comparing almost all of these players to HOFers. Some of them will be, but probably not all of them.

McDermott is not a poor man's Larry Bird, I can tell you that much, nor is Smart some kind of Oscar Robertson/Dwyane Wade hybrid.

Terrible. I'll fix it for you. Best case scenarios:
Joel Embiid - Hakeem Olajuwon

Andrew Wiggins - Michael Jordan ceiling if he can stop coasting. He is excellent at attacking the rim, and his D is going to be amazing in about 3 years of NBA seasoning.

Julius Randle - poor man's Derrick Coleman

Jabari Parker- less selfish version of Carmelo Anthony

Dante Exum - Penny Hardaway with a little Tony Parker

Marcus Smart- Gary Payton/Eric Bledsoe hybrid. He has Gary's defensive potential, and broken jumper, but with Bledsoe's athleticism and inability to run point guard for a whole game. He has a lot to work on to be a starting point guard, and not be considered a combo guard or 6th man like Tony Wroten.

Doug Mcdermott- Kyle Korver without the team defense

Noah Vonleh- less explosive version of Antonio McDyess with deeper range.

Gary Harris - Joe Dumars

Rodney Hood - Glen Rice

There's also a few potential sleepers in this draft with all-star potential (or at least very, very good role players).

One player that really intrigues me is Kyle Anderson. 6'9 with a 7'2 wingspan, basketball IQ of a point guard, averages 15 points, 9 rebounds, 6.5 assists (!) and 2 steals per game, with close to 50% from 3 point range. If it sounds too good to be true and you're wondering why he's not projected top 5, the answer is that he plays at a painfully slow pace. Think Andre Miller on sleeping pills. But you could've said the same thing of several players who actually made a career of playing slow, deliberate, but extremely effective bball (Hedo Turkoglu is an example of a player with bigman height who could make his guard skills work in the league despite lacking great acceleration). Best case scenario he could turn out to be Lamar Odom without the mental issues. And even if he doesn't get there, he could be one of those do-it-all utility point forwards teams love, ala Boris Diaw.

There's also Zach Lavine if he declares this year (low production right now, but great tools, he just looks the part... more likely a candidate to return to college and have a breakout season that puts him in next year's lottery), Aaron Gordon (used to be thought of quite highly, the athleticism is still there), and Wayne Selden, Nick Staukas etc. So the draft could be deeper than we imagine.

Aren't some of these players going back to school for another year?

The only franchise player I see in this draft is Embiid, and that's only if he can remain healthy.
