Pretty sick. As expected, PHX has one of the most balanced passes of any team.
Only thing is I wish it was "directional" although I suppose the only way to do that would be to make an individual chart for every player.

Spurs chart doesn't fully represent their passing. It shows a lot of Parker and Duncan passing to each other but they're a great passing team. They're a rival but I can't deny I love watching them play

These can definitely be misused. For example, Terrence Ross looks like a black hole. But in reality he is a catch an shoot guy who doesn't get a ton of touches and only puts up 9 shots a game.
It's really fun to take a look at one of these and try to picture how the offense flows just by looking at the distribution of passes.

thats that d'antoni offense for you, plus the fact that marshall/pau have a really good high pick and roll game.

This isnt completly telling though.
For instance, line from player A to player B doesnt tell you who is throwing the majority of those passes from player A to B or from player B to A. (altho u can make a logical assumption if its obvious, such as from rubio to love)

It doesn't indicate who are the recipients and who are the passers.

Very cool. I wish they'd set it up by team/position rather than player. I suspect the Spurs pass more than most teams. Spurs starter numbers are probably diluted due to their bad ass bench.
no pun intended

Monty Williams should be fired
Because Brian Roberts has been their starting point guard for the majority of the season right?

Not necessarily, you could have the lines taper, eg:
Player A passes to Player B ~30 per game
Player B only passes to Player A ~5 per game
So the line starts thick at player A and goes narrow down to 5 by the time it reaches player B.
Also: lmao at the cp3 > griffin line

i assume they can graph that too if they wanted. imagine how much teams must be paying for other kinds of info. SportVU must be raking in the dough right now.

no. it doesn't show who the passer is and who the receiver is. it just shows the frequency of passing between 2 players.
you can assume who passes and who receives in some situations though.

Cool graphic.
I wish it had 2 lines between each player with a little direction indicator. For example, you see a thick line between Melo and Felton, but you know the line is thicker going from Felton to Melo than vice versa.
