He's been in a solid slump, but he was put on an overinflated pedestal by most here too early, so the fall's looked greater than it really has been.

No it has been pretty bad...He's putting up 20ppg in his last 25 games. But it's on 38% shooting. That doesn't sound too bad, but it's over 25 games.

He's had shooting nights of:

0-9
4-17
4-21
5-17
6-18
2-14
8-24
4-14
2-12
3-14
6-19
4-19

And today he's at 1-11...

I know the expectations were way too high, but still. He's been pretty damn disappointing. If he wasn't such a phenomenal defender, right now we'd be talking about him like he was a 6'10" Jennings.

This is the problem with calling people superstars after one impressive series and a solid stretch of regular season games. When the level drops, it looks like they're in free fall when the production just wasn't sustainable in the first place. George is good, but he's not really close to James or Durant.

He will raise his game massively against Miami though.

I'm sure come playoff time he will step up like last year.

he's not who we thought he was.

he's letting his value drop, makes it easier for the lakers to swoop in and snatch him.

No, he's inconsistent. You had a few good games and games of 3-10, 4-10, and 2-9 in Game 7 vs the Heat. He's no scrub but he was definitely over rated.

His game was going to fall off eventually. He settles for too many long jumpers and threes and when that goes he has nothing else to fall back on to get easier shots. He needs to work the midrange game more. He's an average slasher so he doesn't get to the foul line enough either. Since his offensive game has no diversity and depends too much on long range shots these slumps are going to happen often.

I was confused when people called him a superstar. I think he is a star, but he isn't somebody you have to have on your team.

My point since the start of the season. I've been watching ball too long to pre my pants calling someone a superstar. You have to have sustainable play at that level with teams game planning for you and knowing your tendancies, yet still able to dominate in order to be considered a true superstar.

I still remember the branslowskis, the faggy ass MarkMadsen's all over these nuts when I said he was good, but nothing close to being considered a superstar yet. Guy came crashing back down to earth, and realistic expecations in the first place.

Perimeter wise, NOTHING really tops guys who are true alpha dog scorers and great all around players. I'm talking of course MJ, Kobe, Magic, Bird, Bron, West, Big O, Barry, Hondo, and Wade among others. As great all around as George is, he isn't quite on that level YET. And u can't forget alpha dog scorers such as Durant, Melo, Dr.J, Nique, King, etc. who can also dominate scoring in a fashion George can't. Until George proves he's a legit alpha dog, he has some work to do to be on these guys level in my book. Not saying he isn't capable, but those that are saying he's clearly a top 10 player in the L need to pump their brakes a bit. It's arguable, but I don't think its a lock quite yet. Even though I will say he's the fourth best SF in the L right now due to Pierce declining a bit. But hell even if at best he's more of a Scottie Pippen caliber player, that's great and a possible future HOF career.

He got overrated way too quick. People actually tried to say he was a better pick than John Wall, let alone the talk that he was a top 3 SF.

He's a better pick than wall.

He's a better pick than wall.
You can't definitively say that.

Wall is putting up 20/4/9/2/1 on 43/36/81 shooting with elite defense for his position. He has legitimate superstar upside, as does PG. But I think if we consider in their play this season, Wall is closer to getting there.

Who knows what Wall would be doing if he had a supporting cast as strong as PG's, a front office with someone like Larry Bird, and a COY-caliber coach?

He was never that good to begin with. I've said before that he won't become much better, if at all, than he was during last year's playoffs.

He's Joe Johnson with great defense. He's not a superstar, and will never become one.

If KD is not a superstar, then Lebron is a scrub. Plus Melo has played like a superstar too. And Griffin, if he maintains his level in the playoffs, is also a superstar.

You would pray for that, wouldn't you? Anyways, we'll see. I don't think he'll put up spectacular numbers going up against a motivated LeBron.
