He has struggled a bit in ACC and in the ACC tournament. It's more than a 1 game sample at this point. I still really like him as a prospect but he definitely isn't the #1 pick.

Would anyone be surprised if he goes 1?

Yes. Embiid if no back concerns should be a consensus #1. Wiggins > Parker. Then Parker can be selected at the same pick as his future self: Melo. The possibility of Exum blowing away with his workouts still looms everyone.

well, staying with these scrubs and letting go of 4-5m is stupid as hell. He should go and I'm pretty sure he'll be a better player after one year in NBA than one more year in the NCAA aka scrub tournament.

Exactly. I had him pegged for the mid teens (was hoping for Chicago), but this performance was awful in all regards. If he drops a bit, some team could get a solid 6th man for a team already competing. He still can shoot the ball well, but man he slipped.

He's an all around talent but I think most were too fast to label this kid full on superstar status NBA ready.

He has a LOT to learn about the pro level clearly.

Frankly another year in college is his best bet.

Players staying in college to learn be the man (change the mentality, learn to score against doubles, etc) at a high level is a good thing.

It's what Parker was this past year and there's no reason for him to return now.

Most people have at least wiggins in front of him. If you can't see that the top three guys in this draft are overwhelmingly better than the rest then I dunno what to say. I don't like parker but he's def top three in this draft and it's not even close. Not my type of player at all but it's obvious where he stands.

Every year there's always some dude who does well in the tournament and gets drafted way too high haha. There's also usually a guy who has a good playoff in the league and gets a contract they don't deserve.

Anyone who thinks one game seriously affects a guy's draft stock is an idiot. He is still guaranteed top 5 and almost certainly top 3.

Also, it would be a very stupid decision for him to go back to school. Why risk losing out on that high of a draft pick and that kind of guaranteed money? I don't care who someone's parents are, what their religion is or whatever, it's a silly and unnecessary risk.

Parker is one of the more ready NBA players in the entire draft. I wouldn't call him an all around talent either, don't think he'll be that good defensively or somebody who get others involved. He'll be decent on the boards and a big-time scorer. I think he could average 15-18 PPG in the league next season.

Poor man's Carmelo from what I've seen. Has the versatility but nowhere near as much, nowhere near as lethal, Melo was more athletic etc.

Melo is a good comparison. They even have the "slightly chubby" thing in common.

This is spot on.

Melo was more athletic than him in college.

Wiggins is way more athletic than Parker and after this game/tourney if Wiggins continue to play like this I think he's a lock for the #1 pick and this is coming from a Parker fan.

Top picks are gonna be:

1. Wiggins ( has a shit ton of potential and athleticism. way higher ceiling)
2. Embiid/Parker
3. Parker/Embiid

Assuming Embiid and Parker enter the draft

I like Marcus Smart the most. He knows how to play the game and can effect the game even when he's not scoring.

He will probably be ISH most hated out of this draft though because of his flopping tendencies

Yep one game doesn't effect a guys stock. All it really does is give people something to talk about. However if the player sucks during the whole tournament then it definitely could effect their stock.

I really thought Greg Anthony made a good point about how they should try and get Wiggins the ball around the free throw line to create against the zone. Self maybe didn't do a good enough job of using him creatively. But regardless, he had a bad game. Does that mean he can't be a star in the NBA? I definitely don't think so but it's that kind of logic that fathered this thread.

Yep. It's clear that they haven't played to his strenghts most of the year but that's what you get when you are a more than likely one-and-done player. You have to adapt to the system more than have the system adapted to you. This is unless you are a truly dominant player at that level, wich Wiggins is not.

Luckily for him he will end up in a team that will want to feature him as much as possible from day 1.
