Heard this on song on the way to work.
You wouldn't be homeless man poor. You would have a home and basically just barely making it. You won't be able to change you're financial situation. You're poor and will always be poor but you have good health, food on the table, clothes(not the best though), and a little house.
or
You would be a billionaire but you would die very young at the age of 28-31. You don't know the exact date or time you'll die.
Which would you choose?
I think most would choose the money and die young.

Do I have any hope of improving my financial position?
Also there is a big difference between 22 and 26

I think I'd go with poor+long life because 22-26 really isn't long enough to enjoy that money. Up to whatever the age of majority is where you live, all that doesn't mean as much.

If rich and die at 40, Id choose that. If not, then poor + long life.

there are an endless amount of other factors that would play into this decision...

Can you work to get rich? I prefer the certainty of having a long life and maybe getting rich, than being rich and knowing you will die extremely young. Would change opinion if i could live until 35 and be rich.

No. You're poor and will always be poor but you have good health, food on the table, clothes(not the best though), and a little house.
Let's just say if you choose to be rich you'll die between the age of 28-31 but you don't know the exact date or time.

I would be rich then. 28 good years is better to me than what I imagine 90+ years of being poor would be. Maybe I am super spoiled, but I have these horrific thoughts of what being poor would be like, I know I am too soft/weak willed and spoiled to make it (eg. I have trouble drinking tap water).

Lol. Yea you sound really spoiled and I can tell you're not from the country either.

What does this even mean?
Poor and live long. Then again.. Poor isn't truly living so I won't be alive. But, I'd rather live.

i'd rather be poor and be able to appreciate the simple things in life. i mean, it was good enough for our ancestors, and it's a way to live sustainably.
IMO peoples' overpursuit of happiness and luxuries is the reason civilisation is headed towards a rapid crash.

I'd much rather take the poor to see what happens and what discoveries we make. Having all that money would be fun but I am poor right now and am enjoying life just fine.

poor and live long, because your definition of poor isnt poor anyway. when did poor people start having houses??

So this means I'm gonna be poor strictly in monetary sense by choice?
That's not bad at all. Many ways to get around it.

If that's what poor is, I'd be fine with being poor.

but on the other hand though, it would depend how rich i am.
If billionaire means literally unlimited wealth, i think there will be certain individuals willing to live a shorter life to eleminate world hunger or some humble shit like that.
