Simple. The MO for playing defense against Durant used to be to d him up physically and try and get him off of his game through strength and moving him around the court to spots where he wasn't comfortable. But as he's gotten better he's learned how to use the physical defense played against him to draw fouls on defenders.

you do know he's such a good scorer that guys try to play aggressive on him and end up fouling him. Should they just stop calling fouls because he's reached this invisible limit on how many times its acceptable to go to the line?

Exactly , he gets every call there is. Not to put a knock on his game but it does play a huge factor when scoring as many points as he does.

reminds me of Dirk... tall shooters savvy enough to draw lots of fouls

used to get frustrated watching a jump shooter, through and through, get to the line so much via ticky tack fouls.

remember in 06 playoffs when he got off 24 FTA, almost as much as the entire Spurs team :facepalm

Both are very skilled, elite, players though.. no doubt... yet there's something irking about it the ease of which fouls can be drawn.
