Can't say.

Kevin Durant is 25 years old. He's averaging 32 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists a game. I'll repeat that again... He's TWENTY-FIVE years old. KD won't hit his prime until probably 2015 or 2016. Who knows how much better he'll be by then.

As for Anthony Davis... all I can say is wow. He just turned 21. AD is putting up almost 22 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks. With that ridiculous wingspan he can easily get up and swat the shit outta anyone's shot. Already one of the best defenders and players in the game. He's got potential to be better than KG or Duncan. Im not saying he will be better but he definitely has a chance.

Both Kevin Durant and Anthony Davis are amazing players. It's hard to tell which one will be better.

Yeah but KG > Dirk :confusedshrug:

I agree that AD has plenty of work to do catching up to Durant.

Right now Imma have to say KD. AD has to consistently win before we anoint him

Plus..AD could be injury prone

No contest

AD is already better than any version of Durant apart from this year's one and he is only in his 2nd season

I don't know if Durant can get much better than he is right now, maybe smarter, savy but not better. I mean he doesn't have much ground to grow in offense, in defense he may get better but he is already very good.

That being said I would go with Durant. Although Brow is very good there's so much things that may happen in his way up that you never know how much good he can be.

I'm not saying it can't or won't happen, but people need to realize that, at this point, when you are definitively saying Davis at his peak will be better than Durant at his peak, that we're talking about a top 10-15 all-time peak at the absolute worse. If we base it just on regular season play, Durant is probably having a top 10 single season peak. I mean we're not talking about Davis reaching a top 20 or top 25 peak or anything anymore if he reaches Durant's peak, we're talking about being among the elite of the elite.

Again, the more and more I see Davis the more and more I do think it's possible he reaches that level. Since he started this tear I've made it apoint to catch Hornets games on nights OKC isn't playing. At 21 years old he's managed to flip some sort of switch very few players switch at that age. Durant did it, too, when he averaged 30 PPG on elite efficiency in his age 21 season then followed up that summer by leading Team USA the World Championship. Some players do it around 21-22 years old then sort of stop improving and tail off a little bit, and some continue to improve. Hopefully Davis -- who has the tools to be an elite defensive player in the mold of a KG with his athleticism, versatility, and length and what I think is a considerably higher offensive ceiling than most originally thought -- continues to improve and only gets better to some extent over the next 7-10 years as Durant is doing. But, don't forget, Durant is only 25 and having a historically great season. Most of the upper echelon of the all-time greats didn't peak until their age 27-30 seasons. This may be Durant's statistical peak, as was the case for some of the other all-time greats, but he'll likely continue improving his all-around game.

Haven't noticed that, but that shit is annoying. Other bigs do it as well. Pau Gasol is the worst about it. LeBron does it more than any other perimeter player.

They almost need to ban that shit from the league somehow. T people up for screaming.

well smarter and more savvy IS better. fundamentals and basketball iq are typically what separate the the greats from the legends.

kd probably won't figure out any new ways of putting the ball in the hoop, his ball handling probably wont drastically improve. but the older you get and the more you play, the more you hone your instincts. it's why lebron is still (imo) a better player than durant, who probably has more raw talent. it explains blake griffin's jump into top tier big man status, just a better understanding of the game.

i think durant still has some major steps to take down that path, sometimes it seems like he overthinks stuff like kobe used to do. i also feel westbrook is impeding his progress in that area to an extent.

whos gonna be better? god knows. the best way to answer this question is to reframe it like "if you could take either guy right now for the remainder of their careers, who would you take"... and even though u get a few extra years from davis, you'd be foolish to take them over duraant whos a sure thing.

KD untill AD atleast manages to get to the playoffs. no reason for Pelicans to be behind the Knicks and Nuggets

I have a feeling we are seeing peak statistical Durant, sinilar to what Bron did in 09 or 10. He will get smarter and better but I see his stats either plateauing or going down. It happens with a lot of perimeter players.

Anyone suggesting this isn't prime Durant is a moron. If he does get better, it's not gonna be much better than this.

Not sure abiut about AD but I can see them being 1 and 2 for many years.

Both will be spectacular players imo.

But I would rather have the post player than the wing player.

Who knows right now.

AD has huge potential though. If he turns into the next Garnett, we are in for a treat.

I MIGHT go AD if he can give me 25+ppg average with all the Rebs and BLKs he can provide because he can do more than 1 dimensional no d scorer KD... Being a LeBron fan has taught me to appreciate a player with defense and multi faceted game :confusedshrug:

KD can give 30 PTs with like 6-8 Rebs no assists blocks or defense.... Those things matter... Especially d. Davis ability to alter shots at rim is intangible

Currently, KD tho. AD needs to step up his scoring

If this is actually KDs peak then I'm inclined to go Davis. Durants having a nice year but we've seen it before. IMO Davis can one day average 28/18/6 on elite shooting numbers with great defense

AD. Durant has obviously peaked; can't see him improving. Oh, and those nagging injuries right around the corner. 1st round exit...

To be better than what KD is now is going to be crazy difficult.
