Since we're all fans of overreacting, Wiggins just went 1-6 and scored 4 points.

They froze him out for long stretches. His pg passed him up for a white guard for the game winner. They gave him no shots

Wiggins will be better in the NBA, but I'm not seeing a franchise player. I'm not seeing any sort of killer, take over the game, will. He's too passive.

I don't like ripping on college kids because they don't get paid, but I don't really see what all the hoopla was about. At this very moment, he's just another athletic wing player with a relatively limited skill set, in the same vein as Jeff Green, Gerald Green, Harrison Barnes, etc.

Only the idiots make fun of players based on one game.

Like Parker, this game will have zero effect on Wiggins' draft stock. Still top 3 guaranteed.

Absolutely. This is a no brainer.

That being said, do you think Wiggin's is a franchise altering player?

Honestly he hasn't seem that great all season. He might slightly be better than Harrison Barnes.

I'm a Marcus Smart guy. Dude can ball.

Prime Lebron had 8 points in 45 minutes in a Finals game

:confusedshrug:

People have fluke games. Durant's second game of the year he scored liek 13 against the Jazz. Lebron scored 61 in a game against the below .500 Bobcats. Julius Randle was awful in most of SEC play. Parker was crap from the 3pt line outside of his first 6 games. Embiid put up 0 points and 0 boards in that same game. All of the prospects have issues. Wiggins is going to be like prime Luol Deng with a better jumper

LOL @ these clowns being compared to Durant at one point. Durant averaged 29 and 9 in the NCAA tournament.

No idea. His offense off the dribble needs to improve greatly for him to be a perennial All-Star type. He needs to be much better at breaking guys down in the half-court to get to the rim and draw fouls. In the NCAA, there isn't as much of an opportunity for guys to do that. Everything else, he either has or should naturally improve with experience.

Bill Self is an idiot, he had no idea how to use a player the caliber of Wiggins.

His lack of aggression what is what frustrated me the most watching him. Jabari Parker, who does have a more polished game, would try to take over games (for better or worse). You rarely saw that with Wiggins, save for those monsters games he had at the end of the season when Embid got hurt.

That being said, he does have a bigger upside than Parker imho. If works on the things you outlined, plus he get's stronger, sky's the limit. His outside shot is still work a in progress as well.

Okay we're gonna blame Wiggins when he has the 6th highest usage rate on this team? He's being utilized as a role player. Shit at least homie could get into college unlike LeBron

He was shook all season? Dumbass. This isn't a new thing, Self doesn't like showcasing a single player. He would much rather lose as a team than win with hero ball. Wiggins is a shitty ball handler? Since when? :lol I've seen every Kansas game this year bud, Wiggins can handle the rock.

nah bro...they hardly run plays for him. Watch Creighton and watch how many sets they run for mcdermott to get him open shots. Kansas did not use him like he was a star

No, idiot. Shaq was the most NBA ready player EVER at 19 and LeBron would have been a close second had he made it to 19... Wiggins will NEVER reach the level of either of those guys... and that's not an insult, but don't say he's the best prospect at 19 ever... because that's straight up bullshit.

Someone post the Shaq laughing uncontrollably gif.

In a good draft he would not be a lottery pick. He's inconsistent, has a low motor, and hasn't proven anything. He's athletic I guess. He's got potential, but come on a top 3 pick. Just shows how the NBA product as fallen.

I honestly don't think that will happen. The guy is extremely passive, lacks the hunger that superstar NBA players have, and doesn't seem like much of a leader. As far as his skills go, the guy has shakey handles, a shakey jumper, and can't do much offensively other than score in transition, drive to the basket, get a tip-in/put back, or occasionally hit a spot up jumper.

That said, he'll probably be a decent NBA player, but unless something changes, there's no way he's going to end up in the same category as Lebron, Durant, Kobe, etc.

hawksdogsbraves
03-24-2014, 12:38 AM
Durant was averaging 25/11 as a college freshman on a better fg% than Wiggins. Wiggins was not a top 20 player in college hoops this year.

Is he athletic? Sure. Could he be an all-star in the NBA? Definitely. Is he a Durant/Davis/Griffin potential MVP type? Hell no. The comparisons to LeBron look pretty stupid at this point. But considering Anthony Bennett was the first overall pick last year he doesn't look all that bad.
