Phoenix has been a total surprise to everyone.

They were the Vegas favorite to be the worst in the league by far.

you guys laughing at the nets look pretty dumb

theyre 27-10 in their last 37 games

thats a .730% winning rate

which is better than every team in the nba other than sanantonio ( .768% )

nets are a title contender since they figered it out. theyre gonna catch toronto for the division title and take the 3rd seed

The predicted records aren't bad. I have no idea how they got those rankings though.

And Nets had very high expectations.

To a 9th seed.

Not a great position to be in considering the draft. Other than that, they've been a pleasant surprise and as I pointed out lead with a +19 from pre-season predictions.

9th or 10th is the worst place any franchise could be in the standings. Considering the Suns had an opportunity to make a player acquisition to fortify their playoff push and passed, its somewhat displeasing to see. They definitely overachieved and have been a pleasant surprise, but I'm just not as blown away from the relative success of a non-playoff team.

Who has Bill Simmons rankings? He had Indiana at #1 and Miami at #2 I remember. I wanna see where he puts the Nets, Rockets, Suns, etc.

yes, tell me more on how before the season powerrankings were projected based on how good they were at that moment exactly

The Heat, with zero financial flexibility, have spruced up the roster as much as they feasibly could have by adding Oden and Beasley. It says here they'll cope just fine with LeBron's looming free agency, too. The real issue is going to be getting out of the East, which is going to be way harder.

The Nets, Knicks, Bulls, and Hawks all major injury concerns to key players.

Only the Bulls and Nets maintained the course, particularly because how every other team regressed in the standings. The Bulls were supposed to be tanking after they traded Deng. The Pistons and Cavaliers were supposed to be good too. But the early season predictions did indicate this would be a stronger conference than the 12-13 Eastern Conference.

replace pacers with spurs and this is still a solid ranking. don't see what's so funny.
