On a sidenote, First Take used to be one of my favorite shows in the Dana J./Jay Crawford days, peaking in early 2012 when Stephen A. would just come on every now and then, making it more of an event when he came on as a recurring guest rather than a regular.

Then...sometime in late 2012...Stephen A. just decided to start talking, talking, talking, and talking some more. Never thought I would get sick of his act, but their new format is 5 minutes of Stephen A. talking, 3 minutes of Skip talking, and then them agreeing and moving on to the next topic.
Once they went to that format (which was a planned move), it was over. Jumped the shark.

The ONLY time it is ever good anymore is when you get a guest in their to mix it up and keep the conversation stirred. I mean, their endless monologues are so frickin' pretentious and boring. And Cari Champion flat out sucks. Not bright enough to telegraph that she's completely shallow and not nice/warm/cool at all.

Embracing debate is not each person talking for 5 minutes saying the same thing or making the same point over and over again. It is going point for point, playing off one another. Interrupting when someone says something that's BS. I hear their ratings are pretty good. Guess there's no accounting for taste.

ESPN deserves their show to suck though for firing Rob Parker for his RG3 comments. That was so low of them.

This show could be so good, as Stephen A. and Skip (as big of a putz as he is) have the potential to be VERY entertaining together. But they ruined it.
Just like the NBA on TNT ruined it with having Shaq on there.

Two once very good shows, now nowhere near as good. :facepalm
