Hi bros!

Just impulsively bought headphones after the ones i own all self destructed but they aren't comfortable, leak awfully lot and and little higher volume they suck..

Anyway they were bought for around 20 so no big deal but I need to invest in new ones. Since they are only for music/movies at home the most important for me is the comfortability, not being clumsy and little to no leaking since I use them often before sleeping for relaxing and certain someone always complains about the leaking. '

I listen to a lot of indie and rock so bass is not of the greatest importance.

I always manage to mess up when buying headphones, always a big issue with them with something.

Any help appreciated.

No but they seemed to have some affordable ones for around 80-150, but I think those probably sucks and gets priced high because of the name.

Or are any of them good?

Thanks will check
.

We need more info Do you prefer over ear, on ear, in ear, ear buds?

Gonna just use them at home? Just on the go? Both? At the gym?

Mostly when home but the music in the gym I go to is terrible mostly electronic music, so yes they will be used frequently at gym, so they also need to be able to stay on when lifting or running.

In ear could work since they are more mobile, and smaller. But I do also like headphones if they arent too clumsy

Do you need isolation? How much?

YESSSS!!!! this is of greatest importance. If by isolation you mean that they do not leak?

Budget?

Haven't thought about it but I could go up to 150-200 if they they have good reviews.

Is style important?

A little, prefer white, nothing flamboyant. Clean style simply.

Need/want a inline mic/remote for phone calls

Mic/remote in the gym could be good but also this is not very important.

Can you buy online? Etc.

Yes!

I have them. They sound great and its sound quality is close to my $400+ earphones. It isolates well enough, but it doesn't do an excellent job though

That sucks. But they are still on my shortlist, may go try and see them, they look comfy and very portable.

Thanks bro!

Isolation refers to how well headphones block outside sound. Not how well they block others from hearing what you are playing. Closed back means sound doesn't escape.

I have my Audio technical ath m50's on right now and i just turned up the documentary I'm listening to to 50% volume on my computer that is much louder than i need to listen to.

I took off my headphones and left them on my desk with the earpads against each other. I couldn't hear the sound. I could hear a low murmur only if I concentrated. The background noise of my office--ventilation, computer fans, etc is louder.

They are made to be studio monitor headphones so they block sound very well. They sound very good too. They may be too big for the gym. I would get a tiny pair of isolating earbuds for the gym.

Thanks just the kind of review I was looking for. But the place I am going to need the isolation at a time where the surrounding will be quiet except for breathing.

Isolation at home doesnt matter but at the gym it would be good. Won't care about the leaking in the gym but at home it is important.

I may buy two separate ones. Im still not sold on buying headphones for the gym, going to be messy. Sounds like a good idea to buy some random earbuds.

Go to Head-Fi and read up. I use over ear, open back, moderate impedance Senn's so I can't offer a lot of help. Pretty much the opposite of what you're looking for.

Which Senns do you have? What are you amping them with?

Its too bad that you want your headphones to isolate well, if not I would strongly recommend Grado's to you, specifically sr60. This headphone was awesome, although it doesn't isolate well at all. Cheap too

For home isolation doesn't matter as I now know that isolation is the sound I hear when wearing them. But little to no leaking at around 20/30% volume with the laptop would be very good.

Could somebody tell me what they think of the Beats Executives. My chick bought me a pair for my bday and I love them. They're the only expensive headphones I've ever heard. I don't want like a hipster opinion etc. Just what you feel about their sound vs other headphones around the same price range. I love them and have had them for almost a year.

I read some reviews bout the Beats execs and they are mostly mixed but it seems they either get a five or one star.

So hate it or love it:)

Ah, i've been wanting to buy the MKIII for a while now...

I have an HD600 but amp them with a Fiio E09K. I was going for tube amps with the MKIII but heard about the Project Sunrise tube amp and now i'm wavering.

I personally went with earbuds becuase I'm on the go all the time. Here's a couple of choices I've personally used.

Rightnow I use the Jaybird BlueBuds X. The best thing about these is one, they are water/sweat resistant, they sound absolutely fantastic for earbuds (as good as regular cabled earbuds that are high priced) and once you get the correct earbud fit they have a tough time falling out.

The only con about it these is they are advertised to work for phone calls, and they do, but they do a really awful job at it. There is a ton of background noise when the person hears you. So personally they are 9/10 for me. If you buy them for music listening needs only, a great buy.

MBKHD's Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=lEjwyYOFwZg#t=212

My other earbuds I've had are the NuForce NE-700X's.

These are a your regular wired earbuds. They sound like $200+ earbuds and some people feel they sound as good as Monster Turbines. There's two different versions, the NE-700X's and 700Ms. I had the 700X's which only come in silver and without the microphone/music controls. The 700M's are only in brown and have a mic/controls, but the mic doesn't work that well for phonecalls and the controls only work for Apple products i believe. So if you purchase these, get the regular earbuds without the controls.

The drivers in the earbud are coated with titanium and the whole earbud itself is very light and made from 1 piece of aluminum. The are very durable when it comes to dropping them, etc. The cords can tangle easily like nay other non-flat cord.

These are a good bang for your buck. I got mine refurbished for like $45 and aboslutely loved the sound. They even sound a tini-tiny bit better than my JayBirds, but I love having the wireless feature on my JayBirds to give those up.

Depends on the fit and size earbuds you get in. There is a break-in period for most. I would say after 3-4 days I didn't barely notice I was wearing my BlueBuds after a couple of hours.

My JayBirds BlueBuds X never come out and I've done high interval training in them and jogged in them. All you need to do is put the soft silicone tips in and wear them over-the-ear and the only way they're coming out is if you pull them out yourself.

The second ones are budget. They give excellent sound if that's what you want. If you're going to be doing sports I would NOT recommend them though because they're going to fall out like any other earbud.

If you're definitely doing activities get the BlueBuds. They're wireless, the last a long time on the battery (advertise 8 hours, but honestly you get 6 out of them, which is still good IMO). They are sweat/water resistant and you can wear them over the ear, under the ear and use the optional soft clip tips to help keep them in place.

That MKBHD review video is dead on how well they do.

There's a tone of positive reviews of them on YouTube.

How are the controls on the bluebirds?
If you do them over the ear, the controls lay flat against the right side of your head behind your left ear. To me, this makes them very easy to hit the buttons becuase you only need a single finger to press them and not your thumb since the controls base is langing against your head and the buttons are sticking out from it. All you have to do is take 1 single finger and push the first button closest to your ear once for volume up, double hit it for forward track skip, middle butting is pause/play/power/pair, and the last button furthest from your ear is volume down for single hit and previous track with double hitting it.

Also there are some phone uses too, but I don't use it for phone since the buds don't have noise cancelling. As I said, horrible for phone calls, great for music.

Yes, it'll take some fiddling to get them set on the right angle so when you put them in your ear they make a secure fit. It's just trial and error.

FYI when you get the message "Low Power" from the voice Jenna, that means you have about 15-20 minutes before they die.

About the ath m50s...how good is the isolation with those? Want to use them to play electric guitar over laptop, and they should at least filter out the plinky dry guitar sound, which is really annyoing with the open sennheisers I'm using currently. Don't need them for loud enviroment, only to isolate guitar noise. So are m50s a good choice for that?
