View Full Version : I think Oden was broken vs Pacers

I know this is late, but I have just been thinking, and I think Oden took some serious psychological damage vs Indiana. Everyone knew he was here for one reason and one reason only, and that was to handle Hibbert. After his feel good comeback story, all that hard work during this last year to be what the Heat needed him to be, the game vs Indiana was the chance to show what all the effort was for.

Sadly he looked out of his depth and that punk Hibbert ran all over him. After he got subbed out midway during the first quarter, Oden had a terrible look on his face, like he had just realised he couldnt do the one thing he was brought to do, and that he couldnt repay the faith that the Miami Heat organisation had in him. He didnt play the rest of the game.

It was sad moment for real, did anyone else catch it? And do you think that is the end of the Oden experiment or do you think he can still come back to be effective against Hibbert in the ECF?

Hibbert wont kill you on a regular basis in the post. He wont even try. Even last year vs the Heat his damage scoring wise was largely off offensive rebounds. If Oden keeps Hibbert off the glass they can handle his 3 made jump hooks a night.

oden will be okay. Hibbert was making contested shots in the post and those won't always fall for him. from what i saw oden is stronger and can keep him off the boards if he wanted to. so i guess i basically agree with kblaze.

Bennett hasn't eliminated himself from the discussion either, yet.

Judging oden way to harshly. The guy is coming off major knee injuries and didn't play for a long time. It will take him until atleast midway through next season for him to start finding his feet and wind.

The state of big men in the modern NBA is so sad. Hibbert isn't even that good to begin with.

Oden gets called for outrageous bullshit calls all the time.
once that stops he will own hibbert again.
if not we just throw in haslem to do that owning:roll:

using your method evaluating busts, i think Len Bias is the biggest bust in NBA history. killed himself before even playing for his team.
