He's really good, but Ive seen some of you say he'd be Top 5 all-time if he wins a third ring.
That's absurd.

A lot absurdity about that when you look at the context.
Let me put it this way :
Great all-around player obviously, one of top 5 all-around players
Career is a so-so, biggest choke in the history of NBA in 11, quit on his team in 10. Pretty good finals in 12 against a baby team and a sub-par finals in 13 and the pensioners.
MVP's are a worthless award, and even then who was he competing against in his MVP years?
In 09 a 30 YO Kobe with a great team around him was his competition, in 10 it was Kobe, who had his minutes cut short by Phil to preserve some legs for the PO. 12 - Durant had a better team record if I recall correctly (correct me if I'm wrong), so if we're going by this criteria, which has decided the past 20-30 MVP award winners before that, Durant should've had his MVP. Or did Durant have the better team record in 13? Dunno, one of those years.
He has figh FG% in the regular season which nosedives in the PO the last few years, which shows he's a cherrypicking in order to have better statistics. Or is he just underperforming? Take it any way you want it.
Obviously a great player, and TOP 15, but cut the bullshit with the top 5 talk

I know bro it's ridiculous, he's literally a future top 1-5 player of ALL time. It's funny, Lebron is held to such a high standard, that when he isn't always at that mark people go nuts. A bad season for Lebron is generally, besides Durant (great player aswell), an epic peak season for them.
When he's gone people will stop the trolling and appreciate what's gone.

Lebron is more accomplished than the Knicks entire history as a franchise. Knicks havent been shit since you were a sperm in your dad's nut sack
1970 and 1973 Knicks anchored by Willis Reed would absolutely abuse and psychologically destroy any team Lebron has ever played for. Those Knicks teams were the smartest teams that ever played anchored by one of the toughest centers that ever played, they spoke their own damn language when they ran their plays. I mean literally, they made up their own language.

of course, according to you the team that played in the 70s is the smartest team that ever played.
You think that there were a lot of good big men in the league during those times so i would guess that current heat team would pick an above average big men defender during those era for 10 mil instead of bosh and pay 5-6 mil for another shooter and they would destroy those knicks who played in the inferior era.

Lebron may pass him career-wise, and even then when you look at the context, Lebron will need at least 5 rings to do so, he won't ever achieve the level of Bird's play, assuming we've seen the best of LeBron.
Bird is Kobe and LeBron combined, without the mental flaws of either, though without the athleticism of both too. But athleticism's overrated.

You don't hold it against LeBron because Mo Williams was his 2nd best player and Ilgauskas his 3rd, while he was 24.
Durant has Westbrook and Ibaka, and he's 25 and he has had this core for 2 years now..... He needs to win, he played at too high a level in the regular season to now put up 28 ppg in the playoffs and get bounced in the WCF.

What if he puts up 35ppg on 65% TS% and loses to a good team, and gets eliminated (with his team underperforming/injured)? Same thing happened to Hakeem, LeBron, Kareem, MJ, and probably a few others.
If WB/Ibaka play well, and KD doesn't raise his game, obviously it'll be on him.

Facts are that Bird was going against the showtime Lakers with two TOP 5 players ever, Silk, one of the best defenders ever Cooper and a million more great players. Granted, his own teams were no newbs, but they were nowhere close to the stackeness of LAL.
Bill Russell was more accomplished at the age of 29, and even then, you have to count seasons, because some players go to college and some don't, so MJ in the same amount of seasons accomplished more than LeBron, Bird, Wilt, Shaq, Duncan too. I'm probably missing out on 5-8 more people.

If WB is injured then of course, there is leeway. If WB and Ibaka just play below their season average and he puts up 35, then most people will give him a pass, but his floor game would have to be looked at since in the 12 Finals he put up 30 on 55%, but 6 and 2.
I'm being harsh to Durant, i know, but after this season i expect him to play like an all-time great in the beginning of his prime... since that is the way he played this season at least offensively.
