At the end of January. January 31 2014 to be exact
KD danced on the Nets had 26/7 8-10shoot, perfect from 3 and FT line all in 30 minutes. Capped off one of the best months in NBA history where he averaged 37/6/6/2/1 55/44/89 shooting

It was over then. OKC went 12-3 in those games including a 9 game win streak over teams like Miami, Spurs, Houston, GS, Portland, Atlanta and Brooklyn

When LeBron had his recent slump. Otherwise it would've been mvp #5

After KD's 43 point game vs Portland where OKC was down and then he drilled like four straight 3 pointers to close the game out.

I remember watching the post game shit. Scott Brooks didn't say shit about it. Reporters weren't going apeshit over it. It didn't get a bunch of hype. That was the point when I realized this shit is no longer a big deal anymore, it's just KD being KD.

After LeBron played like an ass after 61

It's not even about anything Durant has done.

TBH i dont think Lebron was ever a serious threat for MVP. CP3 and George all should be higher than him. Maybe Curry and LMA too.

Well, LeBron never regained the #1 spot for the MVP so fairly early in the season.

He wasn't. The vegas odds have for like 3 months always had Durant as the heavy favorite for the MVP award.

I don't know why anyone ever went against that line of thought. Then again, I don't watch ESPN either.

It was officially over after Bron's terrible performance against CHI where Miami lost their 3rd straight ...then KD dropped 42 the next game against the same Rockets team Bron struggled against. It was over at that point, KD started dominating the same teams Bron was struggling against.

after lebron's 61 point game

Answer is obvious. Losing 5/6 after the 61 point game killed Lebron. KD going 37 games with 25+ in the same stretch

it was lebron's to lose after his sixty one point game, but when he went into that slump, it was over.

When Adam silver took over and decided that lebron won't get any calls, and durant will be the next mj.

You'd have to ask the referees when they decided that.

for real though, someone should find one of those threads, saying shit about how LeBron was going to turn it up post ASB and win the MVP. Or just one of those LeBron is the MVP threads after his 62 pt game.

And bump that shit. I will future rep you for it.

Real question should be was there ever a race to begin with?

I'm going to say when the referees started not calling anything against Bron. KD already has 200 more FTA than Bron. Bron goes to the rack with more power and speed so no way should KD have as much as 200 more than him.

Pretty much this, that 4-5 game in a row stinker was just brutal.
