This is just crazy that they're playing this well and this is with Duncan and Ginobili past their primes. Though Duncan is playing at such a high level still. But how good would this team be if Duncan and Ginobili were in their primes right now? This would still be current Tony Parker since he's still playing the best of his career the last few seasons.

Obviously theyd be title faves but if u had prime Timmy and Manu they would get way more money and thus u cant have the same stacked support around them so its not a fair question. Thats like saying what if KG and Pierce were in their prime from Brooklyn

You put '03 Duncan and '05 Manu on this team and I doubt they lose a single Playoff game.

Duncan would be the best player in the league quite frankly.

That team would rape this league... There is no way Miami could contain prime Duncan.. Against them he would be god... I doubt Any series would extend past 5/6 games..

Prime Duncan would be unstoppable in this league. Imagine if Timmy didn't have to go through Shaq, Garnett and Dirk in the playoffs every year?

Davis will benefit from the leagues' lack of great big men. Expect many repeat titles from him if he doesn't get any real competition.

This. Next 4-5 titles would be theirs unless some new super team of KD + Bron forms.

Forget about Prime Duncan.

Forget about Prime Manu.

Give the Spurs "2013 NBA Finals Game 5 Manu" instead of "2013 NBA Finals Game 6 Manu" and the Spurs win the Championship last year.

They would still lose to supercharged Spurs.

They would redefine the word 'rape' in a basketball context.

Don't you mean "plant Manu on the bench in 2013 NBA Finals game 6 and the Spurs win the Championship last year?"

With Prime Duncan and the lack of decent big men today, Spurs would win the championship easily.

Think 01 Lakers with a better supporting cast around Shaq and Kobe.

would have won all the last two years and win this season too

Prime Timmy would win the title in this league on his own. Again. Let alone with prime Manu on his side.

Are we finally to the point where mid 2000s nostalgia is settling in?

Prime Wade, Allen and an Oden that didn't get injured gives that Spurs team a run.

If hibbert can look like Kareem against the heat.. When he is very average offensively.. What would prime Duncan look like..
Game 6 last year Duncan had 25pts at the half.. Faded in the 2nd half a lot to do with age.. Prime Duncan probably drops 50 in that game

Who on Miami could contain prime Duncan?? He would be the biggest mismatch in the series by far..

They couldnt stop him. They would just have to let him do his thing and contain everyone else. With the added ability of a Prime Wade and Prime Ray the spurs would have no chance of containing 4 offensive threats on the court at all time. Lebron, Bosh, Wade, Bosh.

^ Yeah, two Boshs would be pretty hard to contain.

Well, Prime Tim Duncan is not taking the pay cut he has right now so that would shorten the bench by a good ass amount. And Manu Ginoboli is pretty much the same player he was statistically believe it or not. His stats are exactly the same just 6-8 minutes less than before.

They would not win 70 games in this era like nostalgic people might think.

Are you saying that prime Duncan and prime Manu on the current Spurs wouldn't win 70?

It's hard to tell because you talk about the paycut thing above. I took the OP to be asking about just giving the current Spurs prime Manu/Duncan.

If they had those two guys in their prime and stayed healthy. They would likely win 70...

But what's for sure, is that they would easily win the title. I don't think people understand just how good Manu was in his prime...nor do they understand how great Duncan was. Nobody in the current league is challenging them...

"Tim Duncan NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award" Duncan would retire and be handing out the trophies

How much better is Tim Duncan and Manu Ginoboli now, compared to before?

It's actually incredible how their stats look compared to their primes. The difference is not that big........

They would be a great team and a favorite to win but they wouldn't improve that much. That's my opinion.

Duncan was getting about 7-8 more points, 3-5 more rebounds, 2 more assists, 1-2 more blocks, in the Playoffs. And that was against far more elite bigs.

I could imagine a 30/15/5/4 Playoff run if you transported '02-'03 Duncan in today's league. He'd be the best defender too.

Trolol.

..

Okay okay okay.

I couldn't even take myself seriously right there.

They would have a shot at 70 if healthy.

But people really need to look at their stats, they are not that less productive. They're just less used.

Well, prime Manu and Duncan were definitely better players, but what you say is actually huge.

Duncan and Manu would have been playing a lot more...take a look at Manu. He has like the 6th best rapm in the league this year. But that is misleading because he's only playing 23 minutes per game. Prime Manu could easily play 7 more minutes per game...and 12 more minutes per game in the playoffs.

This Spurs team with a prime big 3 would easily be the best Spurs team ever in relation to the competition.

They almost beat the Heat with aging Duncan and Manu last year. You give them prime Duncan/Manu last year in the finals and it's a 5 game series at most.

The league just isn't that great right now. There are two teams that would have a shot against them. Thunder and Heat...and even then it would be slim shots at best. Duncan would be better than Durant...and Manu would be about as good as WB...and then you have Parker being better than Ibaka...and the Spurs have a better coach..etc.

So really it's just the Heat...and it would take a truly epic series from both Lebron and Wade to beat them. Possible? Sure...because you have Lebron, but prime Manu is better than current Wade. And then you are needing Bosh to step up hugely against a player that is going to rape him in Duncan.
