I don't mind the trade the Kings made cause they had to take some sort of risk and they pretty much gave up nothing and got slightly better in the short term but Rudy Gay in Sacramento is not going to work ever. I really hope he decides to try go elsewhere I actually hate watching him play even as talented/smooth as he is.

Watching his garbage non stop isolation fade-away jumper plays which he's in the last month started doing religiously is to much to deal with, the team literally is filled with dumbasses and he's the cream of the crop, dude can't even pass out of a double team. I never believed in empty stats till Rudy Gay he will crush your whole offence to take a Travis Outlaw like shot

It's not just Rudy Gay if it were up to me I would trade the whole team besides Reggie Evans and Ray Mac, the basketball IQ or effort that's put in by everyone else is ****ing horrendous it's like these ***** were born to loss.

Just get me some players who compete night in night out and don't make high school level mistakes every game.

Rant over.

So he is going to opt out of guaranteed money to get underpaid somewhere else? Cant see it happening, you are screwed for at least another season

Masai knows what he's doing.

I feel for Kings fans. Ownership literally has no idea how to make a team.

Yeah, he knows there's only a small collection of special kind of idiots still employed as GMs that believe he's of any significant value anymore as far as stars go, so Gay is sticking to that contract until the wheels fall off.

He's Carmelo minus all the positive offensive attributes that Melo actually does bring to the game.

It's fascinating, really. Take Gay off the Grizzlies, become instant title contenders. Take Gay off the Raptors, become an instant Top 4 team in the conference.

Has a "star" ever had such a net negative on his team like this before? To the extent that, where ever he is kicked out of town, that team becomes almost magically improved tenfold?

Shit is sad. Whoever is running the Kings have no clue how to assemble a winning team. Look at all the moves they have made the last two seasons alone. No vision whatsoever, just acquiring bad contracts and bad players and putting out a horrible product.

They are the Oakland Raiders of the NBA.

Keep Reggie Evans and draft Noah Vonleh.

The Kings just need to add some vets with work ethic.

OP: I hope Rudy opts out of his 19.3M deal so he can sign for 3 yrs/19.3M

The rest of us: Yeah, that'll happen...

Don't think he will opt out. There is a slight chance since there isn't much FA competition this season, but highly unlikely, he'll probably be leaving money on the table if he does.

Unless he absolutely hates Sacramento and wants to join a contender for a reduced price he will be staying put and collecting that cheque.

Thankfully Phil is here in NY, otherwise I could see the Knicks going after him if Melo walks

Don't get it done Phil.
