View Full Version : Could NY possibly knock off Indy/Miami first round?

NY looking like they might sneek into the 8th spot, a team I'm sure Indy or Miami don't want to face first up.

Indy have been on the most part atrocious since the All-Star break and can't seem to snap out of their funk.

It's possible? :confusedshrug:

I did pick Indy to finish top seed at the All star Break, but I didn't see them struggle this badly either. Think Miami might snatch it from them, maybe they are both tanking to get 2nd seed?

You would rather play the Bobcats first up, then likely Raptors 2nd round, than play NY first up then winner of Nets/Bulls.

No chance... I would be surprised if it wasn't a sweep to be honest.. In a very important game Knicks let the D-league lakers drop 51 in a quarter.. And got raped.... If they can't beat the lakers.. They aren't going anywhere...

A healthy Chandler/Stoudemire would cause some issues for Miami, but NY's "defense" is so vanilla that it doesn't matter at all. Though I'd love to see Melo & Lebron go up against eachother in the Playoffs again, I think NY could win one or two at home when Melo, JR & Amare get it going.

Honestly, New York's roster isn't half bad, but their coaching staff is inept + the injuries earlier in the season really hurt their chemistry. Melo's also quietly had a decent season, shooting 45/41/85 while averaging 28 a game with 8 rebounds & 3 assists a game. JR's gotten better after sucking for the first half of the season & being in Woodson's dog house for a small stretch. Now he seems to play with passion & he's hitting his shots. He also isn't chucking as many shots this season, taking 3 less attempts a game than last season, his efficiency is about the same it was last season. Over the last 5 games, he's averaging 19 4 3 on 49/45/89 shooting, his head seems to be in the right place right now. He had a one month stretch from Feb 19th to March 15th, where he scored in double digits for 14 straight games, averaging 15 4 3 on 44% shooting with 41% from 3. I think the Knicks aren't as bad as people say they are, they've just underachieved this season.

Felton's horrible play however has cost the Knicks a lot of games this season, a big reason they're still out of the Playoffs right now. If they were to make it & they went up against Miami, I think the series would have at least one competitive game, which is why I'm rooting for them to beat the Hawks out of the 8th spot.

**** no.

The Knicks might be able to sneak in to the playoffs, but they aren't going to do anything when they get there.

The 8th seed in the West will be good, the 8th seed in the East will not.

ny's defense would make indy's offense look like the GOAT offense

It would be somewhat difficult SINCE WE ARE NOT IN THE PLAYOFFS.

Knicks aren't making the playoffs. Hawks have the tiebreaker,2 losses less and much easier schedule.

But in an unrealistic scenario where they make the playoffs they could possibly win a game against the Heat and 2 against the Pacers. And that's the best case scenario.

It's not even Knicks fans that have these visions. No, the Knicks can not do any other team's dirty work. A good team is going to have to beat the Pacers and/or Heat. It won't be the Knicks even if they get in. They are not capable of it. Last year's team? Sure if everyone was healthy. This year's team? I'd love it, but absolutely not.
