Their trained professionals in the sport where a kick to the body is common. Also when fainting like that I'm guessing reflexes kick in and you try to swallow.. I have no answer but that's my best guess.

that was another player who helped him though .. you mean the players are trained for that ?

Yes, I am quite confused as to how that player in the white jersey knew that he was choking on his tongue too.

They must be trained for it.

It's probably happened numerous times and cases because their constantly using their knees and legs

It's one of the first things a coach will tell you when you start playing as a kid. If someone's gets knocked unconscious you have to roll the guy to the side and pull out the tongue. It's no reflex. Actually the tongue is in a "flxed" state when we're conscous, but rolls back into the throat, if someone gets knocked out.
