This. My brother loves that shit, thought the finale was brilliant. I sat through some episodes and it was just the sappiest, corniest shit I've ever seen on TV. Don't know how anyone could watch that for 9 years without throwing up after every episode.

I watched the finale with him and thought it was hilarious that the mother died and no one seemed to give a shit, least of all her kids :oldlol:

hmm just watched the finale it was actually pretty good. I felt a nice sense of closure and didnt feel like the characters were ruined. Even though the mom died I like how they didnt dwell on how miserable it must have made Ted and his kids. ALSO, on the last shot where robin sticks her head out the window and the dogs follow, Swagfather felt the shadow of a tear well up in the corner of my eye. Very satisfying finale, I take back my original words of hate that were based in the ignorance of not seeing it yet.

Now that's some great writing right there. Spend 9 seasons of building up to the main character meeting the girl the freaking show's title is about. Then give her some short spots in a handful episodes before killing her off in the finale :applause:

but apparently they writers knew all along that would happen. The son and the daughter's last scene was filmed the first season because they didn't want them to age out of their characters. Who knows, maybe they shot several potential endings I guess.

heard it drew mixed reactions but for me it was very satisfying finale. i was expecting worse, din't liked that all season it was about robin-barney's wedding and 10 minute after they got a divorce in episode 23 or 24. it was such a bad move for them to get together in the first place if you ask me.

overall the show was great for 3 seasons but too many exaggerated tangled plots after. the last seasons had some quality episodes and some bad ones as well, the best move right now it seems to just cut 2 season and compact some of the action. i couldn't believe that they actually killed the mother, everybody saying that was predictable is out of his mind. liked the fact that they did go too deep into the mother's death and ted's misery after that and the fact that barney somehow find his peace
