What would have happened?

A few months back I got pulled over at night (If it was daytime I don't think I would have gotten so lucky). Cop asked to search my car and even though I didn't have anything illegal in my car I refused the search simply because I never consent to searches by police. after I said I don't consent to any searches he says, "Oh you don't consent to searches? Ok then I'll be right back I'm just going to go right you a ticket". And he went from totally polite to acting like an ass right after I said no.

Anyway next day comes around and I walk out to my car and look down at my car and notice that on the ridge that my windshield wipers sit in is my glass pipe full of weed resin just chillin on the exterior of my car. So not only did my $40 bowl not break that dickhead cop didn't even have to search my car to find paraphernalia but he didn't see that shit sitting right in front of his face.

Before I get called a dumbass for leaving my bowl out like that note that I wasn't the one who put it there. Does anybody know though if I could have gotten in trouble for that? I'm assuming I could have but that wouldn't really be fair since pretty much anybody can walk up and set something on the outside of your car.

It's evidence. With that he has legitimate reason to search your car and book you in.

If you deny it's yours and he felt particularly dickish then it will go to court and you will certainly lose since it's easy to prove that it's yours. Punishment will depend on your state law.
