View Full Version : The trade nobody cares about... Brandon Knight

In 2012-13, Brandon Knight averaged 13 points, 4 asts, 3 rebs, shooting 40/37/73.

This season, Brandon Knight is averaging 18 points, 5 asts, 4 rebs 42/33/81.

With his increase in numbers, and another year for a young roster with potential, and the #1 pick (Wiggins, Parker perhaps?), and the East being weak and getting seemingly weaker, could the Bucks make some noise next season?

Been meaning to make this thread for a while now. He's not the ideal PG, but with Giannis destined to be a point forward, he's just the guard we need. Good scorer, doesn't need to facilitate the offense. I'm so glad we traded for him and dumped that tattooed low-IQ little shit Jennings in Detroit with his also retarded butt-buddy Jsmoove.

Knight
Mayo
Giannis
Henson
Embiid

That core, minus Mayo, is set for the next 10 years or so. Embiid and Giannis become Shaq-Kobe 2.0 with none of the ego clashing.

I mean, say next season he ups his averages to 21, 6, 5 and increases his fg%. With a Wiggins and maybe better chemistry (Sanders...) why couldn't he be a shoe in for an ASG.

It'll be tough with hype machines like Kyrie and Wall. Then you have Rondo, and perhaps Rose coming back. Even in the shitty East the PG position is stacked.

could the Bucks make some noise next season?

100% absolutely not.

And it has nothing to do with the lack of Brandon's abilities or the lack of potential of any of the other players on that team, it has everything to do with the fact that Milwaukee is one of the most unmotivating and uninspiring places to play, and it will never land anyone such as Phil Jackson or Pat Riley who could change the culture there because no one important wants to work or play for a freezing, small-market club. Beyond that, no one in this draft class comes close to good enough to make a serious change (i.e. Lebron, Garnett, etc.). Can you imagine Andrew Wiggins making Milwaukee relevant? I can't.

part of why his averages are so good this year is because he doesn't have many people to fight over shots with

i know his percentages are up, but if the bucks draft a jabari parker or wiggins, you can bet that knight's fga are going down

Except they all walk when free agency comes up or get traded for 50 cents on the dollar. Endless loop of shit or mediocrity.

In 2012-13, Brandon Knight averaged 13 points, 4 asts, 3 rebs, shooting 40/37/73.

This season, Brandon Knight is averaging 19 points, 5 asts, 4 rebs 42/33/81.

With his increase in numbers, and another year for a young roster with potential, and the #1 pick (Wiggins, Parker perhaps?), and the East being weak and getting seemingly weaker, could the Bucks make some noise next season?
Those numbers look completely inaccurate, but maybe I'm just thinking of a different Brandon Knight... ?

http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/k/knighbr03.html

The difference between 17.6 points and 19 points is rather large. I get the idea of rounding up, but that's taking it to an extreme never before seen in mathematics.

Also, a 4.9/2.6 assist/turnover ratio is not good for what is supposed to be the teams' primary playmaker/point guard.

His numbers are up and he seems to be improving, which is great. But, let's not overstate things.

I happened to glance at the per 36 average. So 17.6 ppg playing 33mpg. Seems reasonable to think with more PT and less pressure on him defensively, no reason to think he cant up his scoring and assists.

He is every team's defensive focus, and his numbers are still up there. Besides, he is tied for 29th (15.0) in FGA per game, right along with Affalo (14.3) and Monta Ellis (15.2).

So it's not like he has a green light and just chucks it however much he wants.

Only difference is they are both shooting 46% to Knight's 42%. If they all shot a similar % now, Knight would average nearly 20ppg.

Ok... but they were not presented as his per 36 numbers. That was my point.

Knight-Giannis-Henson-Embiid is the future.

Olaneckpo and Vucci Boner and the rest of the Magic can swim in mediocrity for the rest of eternity.

Wow, I'm gonna bump this. Reply to some texts, make a bowl of cereal, watch people derail this thread because the Bucks are one of the more pathetic franchises in NBA history and people caught this because of my bump.

And then add my own shit on the top of this shitty thread about a player playing for a shitty franchise.

Funnily enough I was thinking they could trade him to the Knicks for Chandler, if they draft Embiid. Get out of his 4 year contract with Chandler expiring after next season.

Just his ppg was his per 36 numbers...

So out of all those numbers I threw out there, only his ppg THIS season was his per 36 (because I looked at the chart below when glancing at it).

Never seen someone get so upset over 1.4 ppg.

I even changed to OP from 19 to 18 for you.

Let's see if Brandon Knight can be better than Brandon Jennings first. He's not the chucker Jennings is, but they have similar efficiency, which is pretty low. Plus, you wonder how long he can stay in the league with his frame.

the bucks will most definitely improve next season and if things pan out well with their potential first pick i wouldnt be surprised to see them in the playoffs with the way the east is set up

I like what he has done for the Bucks ...
He is a team player, and on point he out played Jennings in this horrible year , compared the three years Jennings was with the Bucks.

He is a reliable upgrade !
