Joe Dumars is my second favorite player of all-time, and I despised the Bulls when facing against my Pistons, but I would not call that play a flop. Jordan was upright, in a relatively poor and upright defensive stance, and his weight was pretty free to be manipulated.

It appears Dumars knocked Jordan off balance and Michael responded as if he wished not to fall (got his feet under him as he was moving backward). There was no wild flailing, no awful drop to the floor, just a guy sliding backward after absorbing contact.

Too bad it wasn't possible for every 12 years old fatso to make a slowmo gif everytime a play like this happened

There is no doubt in my mind that obsessive player fans who don't like the fact that Jordan is still considered untouchable in his GOAT status by a large consensus retroactively attempt to create a narrative that was never actually there.

It's not like that is just a random clip OP posted while watching some old Bulls film. That would be one thing. But, it was uploaded to YT specifically to show that Jordan "flopped." That's its sole purpose.

And, it's pathetic.

Because why not? They must make every person in the world hate LeBron and expose him as the true flopper and scrub that he is. They must use a asterisk every time they write LeBron's name because he is a cheater and he can't do anything without the refs. It's imperative that people change their opinions about LeBron and hate him so we can all laugh and make 1000 threads every time he misses a basket, and then jump on the bandwagon of every player who plays against him. The opinions of ISH are the most important thing in the world. We must dedicate all of our time to making LeBron the single most evil person on the planet.

In come the Jordan fan boys claiming that it is not a flop, Jordan would average 65 points a game today, the Bulls were winless without Jordan. Some people are so hung up on the cult of Jordan that if Jordan ever sucked dick his fan boys would start saying stuff like "that was a heterosexual act"

Just look at how the fan boys and the public ignore that Jordan's game winner against the Jazz was a push off. No one mentions it because their golden boy Jordan can never be criticized. MJ was the most ref protected player of all time by miles.

Jordan fanboys. :oldlol:

I always get a kick out of that. There was no player that spent as much time as Jordan ripping out my heart, as a fan, and stomping on it every chance he got. He was my worst nightmare during his peak.

But, did he spend his days throwing his arms up, falling down for no reason and stumbling out of bounds after no contact was made?

No, no he didn't. The flopping really started to get out of hand in the last 5-10 years. Again, the fact that this play is apparently the best they can come up with speaks volumes.

I'm telling you, flopping -- the way we know it today -- didn't exist in the game in those eras. I'm not saying that guys didn't occasionally exaggerate contact for a whistle, but things have gotten so far out of whack in the last decade with the flopping, the things that we used to shake our heads about back then wouldn't get a second look today.

Rodman was one of the first guys who would openly exaggerate contact to get a call, mostly while defending in the post. But, you go back and look at even his worst arm flares and falling backwards, they pale in comparison to things we see every night in today's NBA.

And, he was an exception back then.

The game has changed... for the worse in this aspect. It's undeniable.

Yes my point is that I see the same gifs posted in the same order as if they have it saved to use it every time they talk about LeBron. Then it takes true dedication to put * every time they use his name. Then they call LeBron stans insecure. It's the literally the same people over and over again. Everyone knows LeBron flops, but my God, you would think LeBron was a flopping scrub and not a 4x MVP and 2x Finals MVP. As if his game only relies on flopping and does it every game. I don't mind if people dislike him, but I just wonder what makes people want to spend so much time on a basketball forum to hate on somebody so much that they don't know personally.

Because it's a major problem in today's NBA. Attempting to minimize it by tossing up incredibly benign plays like this one only drives home the point.

I don't care if you're a fan of LeBron, Durant, Kobe or a Cavs fan like myself... Everyone should be decrying this flopping epidemic in today's NBA. Unfortunately, one of my favorite players -- Anderson Varejao -- was one of the pioneers of the new age flopping. I don't waste my time trying minimize it just because I like the guy.

Flopping is out of hand today in a way that it simply wasn't back then. For me, this isn't just about LeBron or any one player. It's about the health of the league. This is a problem, not for one guy, but the whole league. Not much else to say.

I'm not sure anyone supports flopping. Maybe some people are in denial, but I think we can all agree flopping sucks, but the players do it because they can and they get away with it. Whatever it takes for them to get a competitive edge. It starts with the league cracking down on it. I'm not sure how else they can stop the players from doing it so blatantly and often.

One of the reasons I get so mad when the best player in the league flops is that it seriously minimizes the chances of the league ever really stepping in and putting some real penalties behind their words. They're not going to suspend LeBron for flopping. It just isn't going to happen. Has he ever even be disciplined at all for it?

If it were still just something done by role players and just OK starters around the league, the front office would be much more likely to take a hard line. They're just not going to do it when all of the best players are flopping around, too.

They have to go in harder than that.

Minimum 5 game suspension will stop them flopping in the regular season.

In the playoffs? a really severe fine that will make them think twice about doing it.

If this happens, there's a chance that Lebron won't play a whole season. 5 game suspension, Lebron flops more than 20 times per season. 20 x 5 = 100. RIP JohnFreeman.

He's been fined, but I don't think he's ever been suspended for it. You make a good point. LeBron has to set an example. They aren't going to suspend him because he draws the ratings and $$$.

If they did suspend him, it'd make headline news. Ratings would for sure go up, but his reputation would be ruined more so.

This man speaks nothing but the truth.

:facepalm Ratings would go up? You're an idiot. Lebron is the only reason anyone watched the Finals the last 3 years. :oldlol: They may have been watching hoping to see him lose, but they were watching because of him.

I am so sick of these stupid "the league would never punish Lebron" arguments. If you actually bother to watch any Heat games you will realize the league and the officials give him zero respect now days. He was fined for flopping in the playoffs last year, and just last week he got called for a flagrant while making a totally legit basketball move.:facepalm He has also fouled out of multiple playoff games the last few years, something that never happened to players like MJ and Kobe. And it's not like Lebron committed obvious fouls and gave the refs no choice, as the fouls that were called against him were highly controversial to say the least. The NBA has proven time and time again it will punish Lebron. Just admit you only hate him cause he left your team.

Are you really that stupid to believe the media wouldn't make a frenzy out of it? People would be tuning in, guaranteed.

Who the hell are you calling an idiot? If LeBron* got suspended, ISH would go crazy.. you would probably have a heart attack, dumb ass.

How was that a flop? Dumars was the strongest perimeter player in the league. Again, Jordan never flopped like the soft players today. Everybody who plays today is soft.

It was a flop. Dudes flopped back then, but it's a different breed of flop compared to today's BS. Still all flopping is shit.

:lol at Jordan stans acting like this wasn't a regular Jordan flop

The only thing they can hide behind is the lack of technology in that era:lol

flopping was invented in the '80s by the likes of Jordan who could not handle the physical play, guys like Laimbeer were only countering that

Michael clearly flopped why are people trying to deny this look at him when he landed on the ground he even kicked his legs up.

When your momentum is carrying you back like that, you can practically flip over like this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmJ1RRy-Nzc

Once you know your legs are going to give out, all you can do is try to brace the fall by kicking back and sliding, otherwise you're going to fall on your back and get the wind knocked out of you.

Players also do this to avoid having their knee/ankle take an awkward impact. You extend the leg so that it doesn't buckle in on itself.

The amazing thing about this post is it was edited. Why? not enough retard? Too much retard? I'll go with not enough retard, because it's too much retard as it is.

About the video, that would have been a offensive call 10 times out of 10 theses days, a obvious pushover with the off arm, the fact that a Lebrontard just posted that when we all know Lebrontards think game isn't softie today, it's well... Lebrontards

Probably the most pathetic flop of all time from Lebron's 6 point Finals game. I know people will say he scored 8 points but he actually got two free throws from that ridiculous flop so I'm deducting 2 points.
