.... that's probably part of the problem at Indiana.

1) He's talkin' smack while beating Detroit.
2) Don't get me wrong it was a great shot ... that he never should have taken.
3) To make things worse he's talking trash in the middle of a meltdown.

EDIT (from like page 3):

The clock initially did not reset after an offensive rebound (even though it should have). He began the process with the clock winding down. By the time the clock properly reset, he was already about to release. His reaction while watching live felt more like "Welp, that worked out."

Awesome gif anyway though.

I don't care if he made shot or not, it was stupid as f*ck. :facepalmOnce again, he was taken off guard because a Pacers shot hit the rim and he caromed the offensive rebound, but the clock did not reset, so he fired to avoid a shot clock violation. Only, the clock eventually did reset... halfway through his release (look at the clock on the ticker).

Edit: My fault, didn't see you respond to my response. I'll leave this one up in case others missed the first one.

Paul George is not a great, good nor premier defender in the league. This is coming from someone who is completely impartial, and probably slightly on the fan side of things when it comes to Paul George.

He is an over aggressive defender on the perimeter, and he gets bailed out by having Hibbert at the ring. Watch him actually defend his man. He has terrible lateral movement on defense, and he isn't even good at actually funneling the man into his big. He's just completely lucky to be playing with someone as good as Hibbert on the defensive side.

EDIT: On another note, add George to guys who have unlimited range. Dude's motion didn't change one bit from his regular 3 point shot. Great strength required to do that.

pretty awesome shot though.Clock didn't reset like he thought it would (initial shot clearly hit the rim). He began to fire with the clock winding down, it reset midway through his release.

You can see how he was planning on sitting on the rock and resetting the offense, then quickly began to fire once he noticed the clock.

It is kinda interesting how the perception of Paul George has changed.

What happened was that he was relatively unknown and underrated in the beginning so everyone started to like him because everyone likes to root for the underdog.

And then he was given props and given attention.

And then (which is right now...and the past few months), after we finally started to watch his games and follow him, we all realized that he's pretty immature and no one should root for him.

Really? Is he blind or it takes him 3 seconds to process one piece of information? The clock was still winding down after he caught the rock (can be seen on the ticker). It was sink or swim time. The clock didn't reset until he began the shooting process. At that point, even if he realized it, it was too late... and he probably figured it was a free shot because if he missed, the officials would have realized why he shot it (shot clock error) and given possession back to Indiana.

funny that people are mad at him for taking it. The clock hadnt reset. He was in the process of releasing it when they finally reset the clock. jebus

For those that didn't watch the game the shot clock was supposed to reset but didn't. PG had to take the shot as the clock was at 1.3 seconds

This doesn't fit agendas though.

wtf? So many people taking this gif without reading any context. There is a reason he took that shot.

lucky shot but if he would had missed it I would benched his ass for taking such a stupid shot. I hope the coach or players got on him for taking a shot like that anyways...there was so much time left on the clock also. All he does is chuck 3s.

*EDIT* saw that he really only had a sec left but he still chucks to many 3's.

It's just that stupid pose after he makes that shot. So unnecessary, especially in a close game.

When PG looked at the shotclock there was 2.3 seconds left. He did the right thing.

And SMDH at all you idiots not reading the OP or the 10 or so other posts in this thread explaining why he shot it.

The GIF clearly shows that there were 21 seconds on the shot clock.

The GIF clearly shows that there were 21 seconds on the shot clock. It may be helpful to eye the shot clock prior to George's catch and shortly after said catch. He motions for his team to settle and reset, then notices the dwindling shot clock, which catches him off guard because the prior shot clearly hit the rim. He begins his shooting motion as the clock finally resets. It was too late at that point to change his mind.

Had he airballed, I trust the officials would have stopped play, gathered, and awarded possession back to Indiana with a fresh 24, since he was shooting under false pretenses.

Impressive, even though it's only warm up range for Mirza Teletovic.

Paul George is not a great, good nor premier defender in the league.
He is an over aggressive defender on the perimeter, and he gets bailed out by having Hibbert at the ring.
Like I've sayd a million times..People want to sh*t on Roy but then give him all the credit for PG's defense in the same vein...:confusedshrug: I love ISH...
