This is why no one with an iq over 50 takes this channel seriously. Why don't they talk about thousands of people that die from overdosing on over the counter drugs? Or the thousands that die from alcohol related deaths? I guess their sponsors wouldn't appreciate such topics.
There are bigger issues to society than weed but these self-righteous idiots that hate big government sure do love the government imposing their morals onto us when it suits their needs.

I heard blurbs here and there on TV that he might've gotten hostile. Who knows? Maybe someone pushed him. But still if he wasn't high he could've defended himself at least to keep from falling off a damn balcony.
As dope gets more and more spotlight more people are seeing that it is endangering thier lives.

how short was the guard rail he fell over?
what was he doing there to even be at risk?
was he also drinking?
I mean come the hell on. If you get too wasted from a brownie odds are you'll be puking in the bathroom or laying down on a couch or bed at worst.

But the truth is that marijuana was a boogeyman to many older people when they were growing up due to misinformation and they've never been able to move past that general sentiment. Fox is exploiting that with stories about death by weed.

I have seen other segments with the likes of Bill O'Reilly, ann coulter and the rest of those nitwits make arguments along the likes:
"Our nation will be dumber and lazier if marijuana is legalized "
"Our children will become addicted on weed"
Some really dumb arguments that can be debunked within the matter of seconds. Again these likes hate big government but don't mind when the government tell us what we can do with our bodies. And most hypocritical of all they endorse all sorts of drugs, directly or indirectly, but have issues with a drug that isn't addictive and cannot be overdosed on.
But i digress, this shouldn't be an issue and should be legalized but there are many forces that do not want to see it legalized for financial reasons (ie prison unions, big pharma, police unions, alcohol companies etc) and then there are the politicians that want to keep this a heated debate to distract us from the real issues in society.

Yes there are bigger issues in society. Like keeping children away from further dope exposure. Imposing morals? Actually it's protecting morals. And those pushing the legalization of Reefer are imposing their immorality on the rest of us law abiding Americans.

Alcohol should be illegal as well. But now if we do make it illegal how many industries would this affect around the globe and especially in America economically? Cigarettes should be made illegal as well. But how many industries would this affect around the globe and America economically if it were to be made illegal?

I never said alcohol was safer. But there is a multi-billion dollar industry for alcohol globally and making it illegal here in the States would destroy jobs and industries. So it is too late for alcohol. They should have never have lifted Prohibition.
And to make my point very clear to everyone here there is NO industry for pot. Nor should there be.
Watched a little too much Refer Madness did ya?No. I just think that looking to escape reality by smoking a joint is detrimental to not only society but yourself as well. Same as people who need a drink or a cigarette because they're "stressed out from life".

Marijuana is a multibillion dollar industry you dolt. Now imagine if the industry was legalized and taxed instead of the money being pocketed by dealers.
Portugal, Uruguay, and CO/WA demonstrate that decriminalized/legalized marijuana result in a drop in crime and a huge boost in tax revenue for the state. Neither marijuana nor alcohol should be illegal, only regulated.

It may well be a multi-billion dollar legal industry in Colorado/Washington within 5 years. It's already a multi-billion dollar semi-legal industry in California.
So you'd rather have the money stay underground? Don't you realize how foolish this is?
Your "society of dullards and dopers" argument is a logical fallacy, nothing more. There are functional alcoholics who consume it every single day while working a stable job. Many, many more people only occasionally partake, and responsibly so. In the real world, marijuana has shown to be no different. Making something illegal does not prevent that activity, it only creates more criminals.

This is the difference between people like you and people like me. It has nothing to do with money. I don't care about the money. I care about the health and well being of society and the children that would be exposed to dope and its effects on their lives.
As for legalizing pot for the sake of eliminating crime,,, show me some valid data for this. Because if pot is made legal drug dealers will find something else to push instead. They won't just say "Damn we gotta get real jobs homeboy".

The health and well-being of people would increase if marijuana was legalized. Productive members of society would no longer be hounded and committing a "crime" for a vice far less harmless than alcohol.

If you'd actually like to do your due dilligence here are two journals linking legalization of marijuana with reduction in crime. Read about Uruguay/Portugal for further information.
"Health and well being of society" please don't tell me your argument is "Will someone please think of the children?"
Let me turn the tables, why don't you show some evidence - any at all - that marijuana harms society or makes life more dangerous for children.
I don't like how it ties up the court system.
I don't like how it creates a revolving door of people in and out of institutions.
At minimum it should be decriminalized for personal use by adults.
Legalization would create some mess in regulations necessary for the government to provide the service.

The worst part is he wants to avoid a society of 'dullards and deadbeats'... last I checked, a bad hangover can prevent you from being productive for the whole day while smoking a fatty at night might make you sleep a few extra hours and feel a bit groggy when you wake up, at worst.
Not to mention all of the fights, domestic abuse, unwanted pregnancies, drunk driving crashes, and other violence which occurs due to alcohol
Really now, if you HAD to choose, would you rather have the deadbeat, loser, overweight, unambitious, pothead father? Or the belligerent, angry, beats-his-wife-and-kids overweight, rotting-organs alcoholic father? Who is more damaging to society? Those are the extremes of each scenario.

For what its worth, many of the most successful people I know (6-7 figure earners in a variety of industries, medical doctors, PhDs, etc) are regular users of weed. Demonizing a relatively harmless recreational drug over the last 80 years has had the opposite impact of what people wanted.

This isn't a conspiracy theory this is simple economics. The ones that would be hurt most by the legalization/decriminalization of drugs are the likes of police officers (less cops would be needed to bust people for weed), correctional facilities (less inmates from marihuana related crimes less wardens needed), alcohol companies (marijuana becomes legal and people might consume less alcohol to get their high) and the list goes on and on.
The biggest benefactors of prohibition of marijuana are people selling the stuff illegally. Make it legal and the amount of crime due to marihuana will decrease as well barring the tax on the substance isn't so high that an under ground cartel can provide it for lower costs.
There is no reason why it shouldn't be decriminalized in the very least. Once you allow the government to tell society what they can and can not take it sets a slippery slope.
ALBballer
04-04-2014, 03:53 PM
Then there is the issue of people (mainly black males) that are arrested for selling marijuana and sent to jail with other criminals which ends up having the opposite effect of rehabilitation. Many of these sellers will turn up into real criminals and the ones that don't will have a record and will have an issue finding a job which could lead them into crime.
Our last 3 presidents have admitted to trying weed. If they would have been caught and prosecuted they would have never made it to the White House.

i've tried hookah blast which is more like normal weed levels. can't get it right now tho since MD has got real tight on places selling it. i can't get regular weed either right now either unless i want to take some chance with some ghetto stranger /
anyways kills me how politicians and soccer moms are where they just make things more fukked up with people resorting to these messed up alternatives(potpori's are real popular with military for example since it doesn't show on drug tests). i really need to move to Cali or Colorado.
the high from some of the hardcore potpouri's are so ridiculous its not even funny how fukked up it is that people even smoke it. Maya was the craziest shit ever~ i'll never smoke that shit again...
