The second streak of 40+ consecutive games for MJ is stretched over 2 seasons, the 87~88 and 88~89...

I listed the numbers above.

Unfortunately, I can't get averages from basketball reference stretched over 2 seasons, so I will go ahead and do the math for comparison's sake... you phucks are lucky Im Korean..

MJ's second streak of 40-25+ games..

Took about 30 fcking minutes to get the averages, the crap I do for a good ball discussion... I only did the most basic ones.

On much worse efficiency than Durant too. :oldlol:

KD is ****ing insane. Mind boggling what he is doing. He's making the GOAT look average in comparison. Better all around and more efficient by a mile.

If you took the names off the statelines, EVERYBODY would take the Servant. But bc its MJ many will be scared to.

Durants numbers are clearly better. More efficient, better rebounder, and better playmaker.

Damn. I never thought this streak would be touched in the modern era. This is unreal. If Durant doesn't get all of the votes for the MVP award this year, then there are for real some dipshits voting on the award.

He would have kept his 30pt streak going had he not sat the whole 4th vs the Nets.

Didn't Jordan have 2 seasons of 40 consecutive games scoring 25+ points?

Both are amazing scorers. KD might go down as the 2nd greatest scorer behind MJ. Also, it was amazing that MJ started his streak on his 122nd career game.

Yes, but also a couple of games, KD sat out the 4th because his team was winning in a blow out.

Honestly, looking closely at the numbers... They are unreal. They actually compare to the GOAT's numbers... Hell, has a case for having a better stretch. Mind = shattered

Can we please acknowledge that this is streak vs streak, not KD vs Jordan?

Let's not ignore the fact that in 1988-89, Jordan had a 40 game stretch of 31/8/10 on 53/31/85 shooting. He had ****ing 7 STRAIGHT triple doubles, and 10 in 11 games.

In the entire season, he put up 33/8/8/3/1 on 54/28/85 shooting (61 TS%), with 31.1 PER, 123 ORTG 103 DRTG. Not to mention his absolutely ferocious, GOATworthy perimeter defense.

Durant is an absolute monster right now, without a doubt an all-time great. But we need to stop equating 2 scoring streaks to 2 careers. Durant is nowhere near Jordan yet. YET.

2) Jordan doesn't even hold the record, Wilt does... by a ton of games.

3) Good to see people have latched on to a new 'gonna surpass Jordan' player. Good luck with that shit. Should be fun while it lasts :lol

Some perspective here on greatest scorers their first 7 seasons (since Durant is finishing his seventh). I'm not including guys like Kobe or Dantley, who didn't reach their scoring peaks until a few years in.

Wilt: 39.5 on 51.1%

MJ: 31.5 on 51.3% (52.7 2PA)

Elgin: 30.6 on 42.4%

Oscar: 30.5 on 48.6%

KAJ: 30 ppg on 54%

West: 27.9 on 46.3%

Lebron: 27.8 on 47.4% (51.3 2PA)

Durant: 27.3 on 48% (50.9 2PA)

Dr J: 26.6 on 50.3%

Stfu, you don't even know what you're talking about, ignorant child. I even remember you saying Kareem was never a top defender or rebounder in the league :oldlol:
At one point or another, Kareem murked the likes of Wilt, Thurmond, Lanier, Walton, Cowens, Moses, Parish, Hakeem or Ewing... Doesn't get better than that really, now go call that a weak era or whatever other dumb definition you want to :lol :facepalm
From 1969 til 1982, that's 13 seasons for ya, he scored 28 ppg on .558/.715, always around the top in terms of points and FG%.
He has 4 seasons scoring over 26 PPG on over .600 TS%.
He got 3 Playoff runs - with 10 or more games played - scoring over 32 PPG on over 55% from the field.
He arrived in the league, already as a scoring beast, and winning ring or MVPs, facing tremendous competition.
At his peak, he was dropping 30 PPG on 61% FG, against Bill Walton, in the Playoffs.
At 33 he was still scoring 32 PPG on 57% from the field, in the post-season, leading the Lakers to the championship.
At 38, in the Finals, he was scoring 26 PPG on .629, in less than 36 MPG, against Robert Parish.
Close to his 40's, he was still dropping 40 on the likes of Hakeem (and Sampson).
Most points scored in NBA history.
....
Dude had the best (scoring) move in NBA history, at his best he was very athletic, of course 7'2, with a vast array of post moves and counters, nice turnaround fadeaway from the post too, very smart, could hit his open mid-range jumpers...
Not calling him the GOAT scorer but he is indeed one of the GOAT scorers and you're just acting dumb, underrating the hell out of him. I swear, Kareem is so ****ing underrated in numerous areas, even scoring :facepalm

What about me saying KD plays in the softest era ever, goes to the line at the slightest touch, gets babied by the refs, nobody can't even go next to him or guard him "properly", and all that as more of a finesse player (like Kareem) goes to the line way more than he should've (at considerably higher rate than Jabbar also)??????? :lol

Lebron flops on defense
do we gotta bring out the gifs again????????
lol he flopped 6-10 times since he joi9ned the Heat. hes so bad at it that he doesnt do it regulary and every single one of them is put into gifs.
durant flops 2-4 times every game but not as obvious. thats why he gets so many calls

I dont see how he flops. Plus its call using strategy in basketball and the purpose is to SCORE to win. Getting to the free throw lines = free 2 points if he hits. Why not get to the line to SCORE cuz thats what you do.
if it bothers you so much quit watching KD play Lebron flopped alot more then 6-10 times, ive seen atleast 20 different ones
hes dramatic and thats what i hate abotu his stupid flopping hes freakin 260lbs :facepalm

Durant and Harden are the greatest floppers in the game.

They don't snap their head back like Bron, which is the most visible flop (well, Harden does), but they flail their arms and legs all around the court after every single contact.

Disgusting brand of basketball. Luckily it's a gimmick offense which gets regularly exposed in the playoffs.

Durant easily takes this one. Much better scoring efficiency from everywhere. MJ took 6 more shots to score only 2 more points. AND he averaged more free throw attempts.

Im just not slobbering on his knob like some people including you are

Saying things like Durant doesnt flop,he can avg 10 ast,Hes GOAT scorer, get the fck outta here with that

Yeah sure Durant could avg 10 ast but then he wouldnt get even 25 pts unless he gets 15+ fta every game and hed have a good 5+ turnovers a game with it

Thats like saying Josh Smith could shoot 50%
but thats even more probable than Durant avg 10 ast if Smith stopped takong 3s and unnecessary long twos

KD could get the same fta as Chris Bosh but that wont happen

Only 4 more Assists like thats not a big number at all
could put up 20,10 Easily? WTF are you on Chris Paul could put up 20,10 ast easily but Durant NO

Stanning a player while pretending youre not and youre a "fan" of a different team or player---Suuure

Durant hasnt gotten that many seasons. Put Durant in the league back then im sure he could do it. its harder to stop a 6'9 playing like a gaurd then a 6'6 gaurd. Its just common basketball knowledge. I rather gaurd MJ then KD
MJ was much tougher to guard though. He was more versatile offensively and far more athletic.

Kevin Durant clearly better player than MJ at this age.

KD is 25. Jordan was 24-25 in 1988. You know, 35/6/6/3.2 stl/1.6 blk/54% FG/DPOY/MVP.

So no, not really.

Appreciate the effort

You'd think ESPN would have these numbers readily available for comparison.

He was more versatile b/c he was better at controlling the ball/turnovers
KD is much longer and taller. MJs athleticism is outweight by KDs FAR superior shooting

And this is why brooks is a fail coach...
When the game was already over in the 4th and spurs were playing their bench.. He leaves kD and WB in till the final minute to stat pad..
What if one got injured in this time??? Fail coach seriously

there's is only one player in the L right now who puts up over 10 assists, it's chris paul already one of the greatest point guards to have ever played the game

Far superior shooting? MJ is a shade below 50% FG shooter for his whole career and he's a guard.

Even from mid range MJ was a better shooter than KD.

Stop being a prisoner of the moment.

37.3ppg without shooting 3's is just nuts. Durant's numbers prove it, durant's measly 3 3p on .408 = 9 of his 35.

Also durant averages one less trip to the line while shooting less overall and jumpshooting more.
