View Full Version : OKC Fan Base

Has anyone ever experienced theirs or another team's fan base up close and personal?

I was at a camp in Shawnee, OK (about 30 miles form OKC) during the 2012 Finals, and I had the rare chance to see the passion and intensity of their true fans firsthand. It was amazing to see, and it's what really got me into watching NBA ball. That fanbase seems unmatched and if you even mentioned LeBron, Wade or even 'Heat' and 'Miami' you would've gotten swarmed and mauled by everyone around you. The passion was at an all time level.

Anyone else ever experience something similar?

How are OKC fans not the biggest bandwagoners?

Unless you mean to tell me you guys actually live in OKC. If so, damn, I hope you win the chip

I don't think it's as much people hate the Heat but LeBron.

I don't see people hating on OKC but there always Durant and LeBron hate threads.

The reason I'm an OKC fan was because of that experience, and I also love KD's game.

Lots of people hate Wade, LeBron and Bosh for joining up. I still see people mad on here to this day

OKC does have a good fan base though, but I think Golden State is the best

Best fan-base in sports. OKC is the number 1 place to live on the planet right now, and will be for a long time. We're only growing and getting better.

Stealing the team from Seattle was the best thing that ever happened to us

We are simply the best. We are just getting blasted by all fanbases because of blatant jealousy these days. We stay classy and we're just taking the high road.

We don't have agendas, we laugh at them. Cheers.

Why do you think people from OKC are so tough and loyal? The tornadoes make us strong and bring us close.

That's why we're the best fans in sports. Nobody can argue against us being the best. It's just obvious.

Warriors are the best I hope they stay in Oakland. SF doesn't have the fan atmosphere that Oakland teams get. Yea there more 9ers Giants fans but the Black hole is scarier experience.

I grew up in OKC and consider myself as big of a Thunder fan as anyone. I'm assuming topic creator was at OBU hoops camp.

However, this is a strange and confusing topic.

Are you asking if we have ever interacted with the fan bases of our favorite team? As in, our fellow fans? Isn't that kind of, a given? What kind of a fan never interacts with fellow fans of his favorite team?

Just like the spurs wait until okc is losing. Then we will see if they show up.

Also, nothing else to do in okc

Lemme ask you one thing. The Thunder were founded in 08, but you have been an NBA fan since atleast 07 (your ISH join date). Who did you support before the Thunder?

OKC fans are showing the energy they should, but they really have not been tested yet. You don't know who the real fans are until a team goes several non-playoff seasons in a row.

Born and raised in OKC. One of the best experiences I've had was game 3 against the Lakers during the 2010 Playoffs. I can't even explain how much joy and excitement I experienced that night. It was the first time I was able to release all my emotions and built up stress in that manner. I was yelling at the top of my lungs and was literally hoarse afterwards.

And to be honest, I've been chasing that high ever since.

The hell is your definition of "losing"? To me, it's when they don't win titles, brodie. I have high standards for my favorite team, that's just how I am. If they don't win rings, they're losers. That's just how it is.

lol ok Brodie. Then the thunder/sonics have been losing for far more than 3 years.

Just wait until they aren't even making the playoffs. Let's see their crowd then.
