damn i had so much hope for this kid when he was in Boston. Fortunately we were able to salvage something out of him as a trade asset. Nice to see him being a solid contributor to a team.

I know right, could you imagine just being able to bounce like there's springs on your shoes? Crazy.

I hate it when NBA.com uploads a play with the other team's commentators... this is a Suns play, upload it with the Suns commentators. It makes no sense to upload it with Blazers audio...

he has a solid shooting stroke as well. Always thought he was on the verge of being a T-mac level player back in the day. Obviously he wasn't able to live up to that comparison but at least i have the summer league memories :(

His pull-up 3's were more impressive than that dunk tonight. Guy was in the zone.

There has never been anyone in the NBA with more bounce. It's ridiculous how high he gets.

If we make the playoffs, this dude right here wins us a game by himself at one point.

Nothing better then a guy making a name for himself, especially when he was close to being out the league.

I know it's been pondered before, but is this play legal in college and high school as well? If so, I think it's going to become increasingly common as years go by. In that particular situation (no dribble, weird in-between range from hoop) a little self lob off the board is the safest bet, even if a person just finishes with a layup.

i dont know why there arent more players especially the likes of durant and lebron trying this more often.
defenses never think a guy will do it and its mostly undefended. maybe because its hard when theres a center down there but this should be done more often.
SICK dunk

Cuz it is ingrained in people that this play is/looks mad selfish. If you did this 10x and you messed up 1x people would harp all over that and call it hotdoggin etc. Seems selfish to use the backboard and pass to yourself when there are 4 other teammates.

Honestly though..it's a super effective play because it is hard to react to. No one truly expects it + you basically get to move closer to the hoop. It's a great useful play in my opinion.

It's a great useful play in my opinion.I'm not sure I agree about the selfish connotation. However, I do agree about there being little room for error before criticism for "hotdogging". I think that's going to dwindle though, because it's going to become clear that, under the right circumstances (losing dribble, pump-faking, being overplayed and seemingly left only with a leaning, awkward 16 footer, defenders closing all passing lanes) the self pass in that situation is actually quite logical and leads to an easy layup.

LOL at anyone saying this should/could be done more.

Think about it...for starters...it can ONLY be done when you're around the free throw line (maybe a bit closer) looking straight up to the basket. You can't do it at any angles because the ball has to come back to you off the backboard.

So, you're already extremely limited in the position you need to be to pull this off.

Second...what is the most congested part of the court? The lane. Odds of you being wide open enough to toss it up and have the ball go all the way to the backboard, come all the way back and you not getting bumped or having a defender just snatch it like a rebound is even SMALLER.

Then you factor in timing, how accurate the toss was, etc...forget about it.

There's a reason why only a few players have ever been able to pull this off and that the guys who did either had elite skill level, elite hops, or both.
