PG - Chalmers
SG - Wade
SF - LeBron
PF - Bosh
C - Gasol

Pau has said he is prioritizing winning and enjoyment over everything else, including money. Link here (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/nba/news/20140404/pau-gasol-los-angeles-lakers-kobe-bryant/)

This off-season, the Big 3 can all opt-out and sign new contracts. Battier is retiring, and a some contract's expire, like Haslem's.

So what if the Big 3 structure their contracts in such a way, so that Riley can offer Pau..... say 7mil/yr for 3 years. And the starting Center position on the Miami Heat, is his on the spot.

And Pau would get to play with Bosh, who's specialty is spreading the floor and clearing up the paint for Pau to work in.

Media attention,
nationally televised games,
get to enjoy the city of Miami which would fit Pau perfectly as a Hispanic,

and the chance to play with the most cohesive, team oriented, unselfish, fun championship team in decades. Everyone sees how happy the Heat players are with each other in the locker room. Playing with an unselfish player like LeBron, who is a willing passer at all times? To Pau, this would be a breath of fresh air after being under Kobe Ballhog Bryant all these years.

Here is a quote from Ray Allen, from February 2014, on why he will come back again for next season to play with Miami once again :

Allen also enjoys the camaraderie he has with his teammates. That, as much as anything else, is the driving force behind his decision to keep playing.

"I think my desire to continue to play is all about wanting to be around this group of guys," Allen said. "Because the last two years have been my funnest, just with these guys, this locker room, because of the cameraderie that has built, and the togetherness. That's what means more than anything."

Ray Allen, saying his 2 years in Miami have been the MOST FUN IN HIS ENTIRE CAREER! After all of the fighting on the Lakers, the unhappiness and complaining by Pau of Kobe's selfishness throughout the years..... Miami is the perfect fit for him.

This is what Pau recently said :

"But I would like to first be in a position to win a championship again and enjoy the last few years of my career and be in a good position to do so," Gasol said.

Miami is the BEST team in the league to do that with. The Heat are a very fun team to play for, the Locker Room is amazing, and championships keep coming

pau really doesnt fit in well with the heats pace and space style of play, and defensively he is pretty slow.

hes very talented, but the heat would really have to adjust their style to make pau effective. plus hes pretty old, in a year or two, 7 mill a year could be bad value for the heat.

The only detractor I could see is on defense. Pau Gasol can spread the floor like Bosh can, albeit not as good a 3 pt shooter, but Gasol has hit 3s this year.

On transition baskets, I'm not seeing Bosh exactly flying down the court with the rest of the Heat on those transition baskets.

All they need is a big who can stretch the floor to play with LeBron. And Pau is a great pick and roll center who can stretch the floor.

Yup. Contrary to popular belief, Miami is actually a player in this off-season free agent signings. A bunch of contracts expire, players retiring, and the Big 3 can all sign new contracts if they opt out, giving Miami more money to spend.

Haven't you guys read the news? Wade just said the reason the big 3 signed contracts the same length was so they could sit down again and have a meeting about what they would do, just like the original collusion the year before they came to Miami. They are going to make a collective decision about where they stay or go.

I won't even get into the three superstar setup Miami has going (speaks for itself)--your typical title team has a Derek Fisher/Steve Kerr type role-player hitting big shots. Miami has future HOFer Ray Allen.

LeBron has the deck stacked completely in his favor.

04-05-2014, 08:19 PM
Depends really. Pau wont get many touches with the Heat team. You already see how Lebron and Wade's efficiency inside really alters any post players to be effective for the Heat. Its a drive and kick half court offense for the Heat. Outside of setting picks for Ray Allen, the Heat runs sh!tty offensive sets. It's more of Lebron or Wade dribble dribble dribble, try to find a way to get the double team as they drive, move the ball for open 3.

Pau is going to slow the Heat down tremendously, just because the ball will never get to him in the post, and Pau is one of the worst transition defensive player in the NBA. The last time he sprinted down to play defense will be his first time.

He's putting up better numbers than last year, but his stats are a bit inflated because of the Laker tempo (they play no defense). When the game is slowed down, you get his full impact (on offense and defense).

Gasol would be perfect for Miami. The offense would be unstoppable and the rebounding would improve greatly. Also while Gasol may not be a powerhouse defender he has legit size and would defend Hibbert a hell of a lot better than anyone on Miami's roster would.

The question is will Lebron resign with Miami? Idk if he will...and if he does I think it will be in the summer of 2015 after opting in this summer.

Miami will have it. Battier is retiring, etc... a bunch of money is coming off the books for Miami in this off-season.

If Big 3 opt-out, the only players under guaranteed contracts for next season are Chris Andersen on a vet min contract, Norris Cole on his rookie contract.

And Udonis Haslem also has a player option, but I doubt he opts out.

However, If the Big 3 opt-out, this is 2010 all over again. Miami with pretty much their entire cap space to restructure from scratch. Especially if the Big 3 opt-out and re-sign new Contracts and accept a small paycut.

Stop it,, close numbers and you lose Bosh's perimeter hedging. please..

Bosh's team defense is overrated and easily replaceable. His lack of rebounding is really annoying and harmful and his offense is garbage vs centers. Him getting raped on the boards and on defense is far more destructive then losing some perimeter hedging. Also keep in mind Miami traps on defense so they pack the paint when the opposing player has the ball in the paint. LA doesn't do this, so Bosh had more help on defense than Gasol did.

What did Bosh/Gasol do against Duncan last year in the playoffs?

Bosh: 12-9-2 46%
Duncan: 19-12-1.5 49%

Gasol:14-11-6.5 48%
Duncan: 17.5-7.5-1.5 52%

Not only did Gasol clearly out play Bosh offensively against Duncan, but he clearly also did a better job on defense. Gasol had 2 more PPG, 2 more RPG, 4.5 more apg, gave up 1.5 less PPG, gave up 4.5 less rpg as well.

Also Gasol does a lot better vs Roy Hibbert than Bosh does.

Last year Bosh vs Hibbert

Bosh: 11-4.3 37% fg
Hibbert: 22-10.5 56%

Hibbert raped Bosh period.

What does Gasol do against Hibbert in head to head matchups?

Gasol: 17-11-4 48%
Hibbert: 13-6-2 55%

Gasol treats Hibbert how Hibbert treats Bosh :oldlol:

PF - Bosh
C - Gasol

Too bad Chalmers is a horrible POS player. Otherwise, they might actually have an NBA level starting lineup for the first time ever.

You obviously didn't read the OP. The Big 3 can restructure their contracts by opting out to create some money for Pau.

Restructure their deals...to overpay Pau Gasol. You know what? I really hope legit Heat fans around here see that one of their own posted something that idiotic.
