And they might not even make the playoffs this year. When was the last time the West & East was this lopsided in terms of competition?

If the Suns were in the East people would be discussing whether they have the potential to upset the Heat.
Not so much because it would be likely but just because the East is that awful and people are desperate to entertain scenarios in which the heat don't waltz to the finals.

aaand so would...
Houston
Portland
Golden State
Dallas
and Memphis.
East is that weak. Teams like the Raptors and Bulls are extrememly lucky to be in the East. Btw Pacers and Heat would both be the 4th if they were in the West.

u need to worry about your squad and stop trying to hypothetically remove threats from your conference:oldlol:

If 4 teams from the East went West, then 4 teams from the West would have to go East to balance out each conference at 15 teams.
Let's use some sense of logic from what seems to be a thread that daily occurs.

Suns have a swagger and team mentality that reminds me of the 2011 Dallas Mavericks

And eventually get swept by the Heat. At least out West, they'll have a chance to upset some soft teams like the Blazers and OKC.

If suns make playoffs nobody is going to sweep them.
They are not sweepable, only the Spurs could even dream of it because they know how to dismantle a team
btw if the Spurs sniff the Heat again in the playoffs it's going to be a sweep or 5 game series you heard it here first

You have to play good defense to beat Miami 4 times.

If the Suns lose to the Heat in 5 games during this year's playoffs (and then choose 4 players in the first round of next year's draft) I will be happy, yes

The worst is that the West is not particularly strong this year, east is simply embarrassing.
Definetely a shitty season, too many injuries, rebuilding teams, and tanking

Which season was it where the Western Conference had all 8 playoffs teams with 50+ wins? That was an insanely hard season, think it was when even the top seeded Lakers and bottom seed had just 8 wins separating them.

Believe that was OKC's first year in the playoffs. They had 50 wins iirc.
One of the cheapest teams in modern basketball to make the playoffs too, i believe our highest paid player was Nick Collison at like 6 million.
edit- realised i didnt answer your question, it was the 09-10 season
