I would take Durant with Pippen's defense.

Big > small, if relative talent is comparable.

Paytons defense wouldnt be allowed today. Some of Pippens would be removed but so much of his impact was talking, passing lanes, being versatile, quick to rotate, and crazy agile for his size it would translate better to a softer era.

Pippen's defense is obviously on another level compared to Durant, but we have to consider that Durant is for the most part an above average defender. Nash is/was a complete liability, one of the worst defenders out there. Even with this, his impact on the game was massive. Offensively he was beyond stats. He was so supremely gifted at running an offense that he could have 15 points and 10 assists, a pretty average point guard statline, and he'd still have dominated the game on offense. Now we're giving him the GOAT defense for his position, not only negating his one weakness, but making it just as strong as his incredible offense? That's absurd. I'd probably still take Durant, but it'd be a very tough decision.

This is all assuming that GP and Pippen's defense wouldn't be compromised in this bullshit era, which they probably would be.

Durant with Pippen's defense is easily the GOAT level wing player and it's not even close, yes I said it. Even greater than MJ. Too bad you can't fuse people.

So basically you think Lebron is greater than MJ? Hell you get also extra offense (passing/vision/IQ) with Lebron aswell....

GTFO Pauk.

LeBron is still probably the better overall player but he isn't as good of a pure scorer as Durant and he isn't on Pippen's defensive level.:facepalm

Steve Nash was the most incredible offensive player I've ever seen post rule change in '05. Not Kobe, Durant or Lebron.

If there's a knock on him it's probably he's a late bloomer and he's not the most durable guy. Also his defense was not good and the rule change might have benefited his game greatly.

Shaq + Dirk would be the beast of all beasts.

lebron is no Pippen on defense. And Durant is a much better offensive player than Lebron.

Durant is definitely a better scorer, but NOT a better offensive player.

I don't know a single player in the NBA not on the Miami Heat that would agree with this.

Lol at Lebron having Pippen's defense + Durant's offense. I don't know why people keep bringing him up every time.

Anyway, I would go with Durant + Pippen in that one. But Magic with Payton's defense would be the goat.

You don't know much of anything, so it's best to keep quite.

This is from Feb:
http://www.sportsonearth.com/article/67814918/lebron-james-leads-top-10-players-in-todays-game

The previous ~25 games, Durant was averaging something ridiculous like 36/7/7 on 50/40/90.

Oh, and before you brush it off as "MEDIA!!!11111" and have a meltdown, you might want to read this part:

Here in New Orleans at NBA All-Star weekend, in preparation for the best pickup game you'll ever see, we polled various league executives, former and current players -- just about anyone with a link to the NBA who was willing to offer an educated opinion -- to get an idea of the game's best players today. And what we got were some surprises, some controversies and a rather reasonable top-10 list.

Deal with it, bro. LeBron is still the best player in the world.
