View Full Version : Will the MVP be unanimous?

We all know it should be, but will it?

I think some dumbasses are going to vote for LeBron.

Blake might get a few and maybe throw in a vote for Melo or Love.

Why would they be dumbasses? Is that what you call everyone who has a different opinion than yourself.
I would vote for Bron because he has done more with less. People only concentrate on the big names on Miami's roster, while completely ignoring how old, injured, and flat out unproductive those players have become. Durant meanwhile is surrounded by a near perfect balance of young talent and great veterans. :confusedshrug:

BY dumbasses I don't mean people who don't agree with me. It's pretty much consensus at this point that Durant is the MVP, and there is really no argument to be made anymore. That's why I call them that.

Extremely unlikely. In fact I don't think it will be close to unanimous.

Durant played without Westbrook for a large portion of the season and for a period of time played without 3 fifths of the starting lineup. He relied on young players, rookies and a old vet to get help.

Cmon man you can do better than that

It is not consensus, as my post proved. Durant has too much help to be a consensus MVP.

KD wins it for sure, but I think it will be a lot closer than some people think.

As compared to Bron who has played a huge portion of the season without Wade. At least when Westbrook is out Durant has a gang of young studs to ride with him. Lebron is stuck relying on bunch of guys who are about to entire a retirement home. :confusedshrug:

What significant improvements to his game has LeBron made from last year to this year? He's the same player doing the same things.

It's going to be closer to 50/50 than to unanimous when it comes to 1st place votes

You can't underestimate the statistically best player in basketball and winner of his conference, especially when lots of his votes will come to him just because his name is James.

What improvements has Durant made from last year? :biggums:
KD has improved his scoring by shooting the ball more because of Westbrook's injury, but talent wise he is no better than he was last year.
Lebron hasn't quite been himself this year due to back issues, but he is still putting up great numbers on elite efficiency!

KD's passing & defense have improved. Lebron's defense has fallen off a cliff compared to last year.

lol you're kidding, right? if it wasn't unanimous last year what makes you think it will be this year. lebron deserves at least forty percent if not close to fifty of the votes, if not it's rigged.

04-08-2014, 03:14 PM
I can't imagine it will be, since none in the past have been. I think KD clearly has had the better season and is the right MVP, but it's going to be hard for for every single voter to look past LeBron's FG% and the fact that Miami has the 1 seed (albeit in a weaker conference), while OKC is going to finish 2nd or 3rd.

I expect KD to win by a margin similar to Kobe in 08 (he got 82/126 votes, 2nd place was 28, 3rd place 15).

comon people we all know durant deserves it this year, but when this shit has never been unanimous, you know this isnt the year. there have been years where the best player was even more clear cut, durant has been playing better than lebron this year but lets not act like its going to be unainmous. In fact, I think it;s going to be close between bron and KD with noah and BG getting one or two votes.

Durants the clear MVP but it wont be unanimous. In retrospect its kinda crazy how much Rose dominated the voting in 2011 though

Hell he just might
Last year he said without Melo the Knicks were lottery so that was his reason
This Year theyre even worse

Maybe he votes for Al Jefferson now

Somebody aside from KD,LJ,BG,Cp3 is getting a vote

You got LJ,KD as top two

then there's BG,CP3 and then

Dwight,Aldridge,Dragic,Lowry,PG,Curry,Tony Parker,Noah,Hibbert

so this year itll be far from unanimous
KD gets 35-45% 1st place votes maybe 50-55% if that

OKC are 2nd seed too so no way it gets close for KD to 100%
especially when his main competitor is 1st and 2nd,3rd,4th competitors
are 2nd,and 3rd seed

How is he the best statistically though?

Kevin Durant is putting up 32/8/6/1/1 on .642 TS%. LeBron is putting up 27/7/7/2/0 on .649 TS%

We're talking about a different tier of players entirely this season. And Durant will end up with the better record, which means mean than the #1 seed in the East

Beginning of the season

Hell Melo got a vote last season for 2 months of play
And Hibbert just might get a vote for the Pacers being a 2nd seed

I mean who's more important and the MVP of the Pacers in the medias mind--
Pg or Hibbert?

Being the consensus and undisputed is completely different. You're right, Durant is the MVP but doesnt mean he will get unanimous votes. If Lebron didnt get it last year, and shaq didnt get it before, then that probably means durant wont win 100% of the votes either.

obviously not. durant is the clear mvp but if melo got a vote last year then it is safe to say that it wont be unanimous this year

Last year, Lebron had put up absured numbers (shooting 56% from the field, 40% from 3) for a wing player, lead his team to 27 game winning streak, top of power rankings.

And Durant didn't put any fight at all after the all-star break and Got swept by Lbj, and he didn't get it unanimously.

KD this year has been great, but it's not far off from Lebron who's still shoting 58% from the field putting up over 27 ppg and leading his team to top place of the conference, while having legendary performances like the one agianst Bobcats, dominating KD at OKC.

I think it's going to be 60-40.

that stretch at begining of March costed us a great race and maybe a 5th mvp for the King.
