Any stories of procrastination?
A month ago, it was 12:30 at night, and i had a 8-9 page research paper on Slavery for 11:15 of that morning.... and i had just started. I finished it and got a B i don't know how.
Now, i have another on segregation, and its 11:45 at night, and i only have the cover page and some tabs with information open.
That is not an improvement, it is the same situation basically. Urrgh. Though i was sick all through this weekend, so i didn't just sat and do nothing with my time as last time.

The best / worst part is when you take a porn break and make it an even stickier situation.

Thinking that if i do that, maybe it will help me focus. But damn, i have gone on hunts sometimes looking for the "perfect scene" that eat up too much time.

It can definitely make one underachieve and thus lose the life one could have had. It is preventing me from being as successful as i know i could be in school.
Urggh.

To OP: This is what makes me so relieved when I realize I'll never have to go through situations like that again. Still have the occasional nightmare about it though :/

Done with college/school? Man, that must be such a huge relief. Though i guess normal work would be super stressful too sometimes.
Any bad experiences with procrastination?

dude, you have the interweb at your disposal. it contains all information known to mankind, writting a 9 page is doable in 5-6 hours.

I'm kind of procrastinating with life you could say... it's kind of whatever. I may need that kick in the ass my whole life who knows. I'm just going to stay in good shape so in case it happens my body and mind will be sharp til I drop.

Theoretically, yes. It should be that easy.
But then, sleep deprivation comes into play, then loss of focus for some minutes, then also comes anxiety, then comes the fact that i'm not an optimally fast typer, and then also comes the variable that i am just recovering from a bad cas of the flu. So yeah, it will probably take me until 10:40 am.
But thanks man, i need some positive thoughts.

I'll do the paper for you if you paypal me $50.
haha i just pulled an all nighter for a report due today. Finally started writing at after 12am finished writing a 3000 word report at like 10am (with journal articles and shiet of course) and then spent the next hour referencing and cleaning up shiet. But could've finished it earlier but probably procrastinated atleast for 2 hours and after like 7am the next 3 hours my brain was just fried as sometimes i would just drift off and lose my train of thoughts and be like what the fk am i doing right now.
But it was due 3pm today so i took a 2 hour nap after finish at 12 and felt refreshed as fuark, went to uni and handed it in no worries.

Yeah, takes me maybe 6 hours to write 500 words. I lose focus so easily.

Writing a paper is pretty fast but the problem is, you lose steam after an hour. All the information and creativity is gone after about an hour.
Why do you think it takes people forever to write a book or research paper. It isn't something to do on last minute notice. Not if you want a very good coherent and well written paper.
A good paper is accomplished by writing one page a day till the due date.

Nah it's great man, the work is always there day to day, some urgent, some not but hardly any deadlines per say and if there are...if we don't finish in time hey deadlines move. We just keep chugging away 8 hrs doing work then go home or run errands, party, hangout, whatever, until the next day.

Best thing to do is just start typing even with info from the top of your head. Don't care if it's factual or not or about the spelling just get that shit down. Once you got shit down it's much easier to get going and you just end up fixing the paragraphs, adding your sources and making it presentable.
Outlines actually help too although we all think they are useless.
PS, problem lies within yourself. Block ISH and other internet sources. Get out of your comfort zone and don't type from your room. Do some breathing exercises to get you in a more relaxed/passive zone. Take 5-10 minute breaks(go for a lil walk) every 40minutes or so of typing(this is proven to work).
