View Full Version : Chris "DA CURSE" Paul - 2nd Round Exit at Best

Clippers, one of the most stacked teams in the NBA and they most likely won't even get out of the 2nd round. MVP - Paul doing his thing year after year.

give me iverson anyday, where he lead a bunch of nobodies to the finals vs prime shaq and kobe (Nobody's stopping prime shaq anyway, maybe not even MJ)

Even MJ isn't stopping Shaq from winning in his prime. :( What could've been if those two egos didn't get in the way and Shaq getting lazy. I seriously believe that Lakers team would've won 4 or 5 straight.

Yeah would be so terrible losing to a more stacked team in OKC with the MVP on it.

:facepalm

Clippers are a top 4 team but OKC are favourites to come out the West

I actually think the Clippers have a better team than Thunder if you remove Paul and Durant...

Also think Rivers is a pretty big advantage over Brooks.

I agree with you that OKC should and will be favored, but it has more to do with Durant simply being a better player than Paul than it does to do with their teams.

Can you really blame CP3 if they go out in the 2nd round this year? Clippers are shorthanded with injuries at the end of the season, they could really use Crawford & Granger, who are out with injuries...

What are you going on about? The point is it would hardly be a disgrace if clippers were to lose to the thunder. Clippers have the roster to win but Durant is likely the difference maker on why people don't expect it.

One of the biggest myths on ISH. Let's see he had the sixth man of the year, the defensive player of the year and one of the best coaches ever. He had a TEAM built around him that capitalized on his strengths and made up for his weaknesses. Hardly a bunch of nobodies. Keep tellin yourself that though.

You can't be an alltime great if you never get out of the 2nd round.

Maybe not this year, but Chris Paul has to do it eventually, otherwise he will be just another allstar that noone remembers.

Did you see the weak a$$ conference Iverson played through to get to the finals?

Iverson was a great player but that competition was garbage. That team might not make it past first round in this years west. Just like if you out the clippers in this years east they would be the top team and make at least the conference final.

You're delusional. They beat the Lakers in game one and gave away game two. That was a lock down defensive team and we all know defense wins championships. Everyone had their role and they played it well.

This exact thread word for word comes up every few days.

But, how are the Clippers/CP3 both stacked and a 2nd round exit team? They're one or the other. You can't call them stacked and then say that they won't make a deep playoff run. That would imply that they don't have the talent needed to make such a run.

I personally think that no one matches up with OKC/Miami because they have the best 2 players by a wide margin. You could throw in the Spurs too.

Just because ESPN talks about the clippers a lot doesn't mean the general consensus among fans is that they're title favorites. And Chris Paul can lose in the 2nd round while simultaneously being a very good player.

No no.... EVERYTHING IS BLACK AND WHITE

^ This.

Clippers are capable of beating Spurs/OKC but they aren't going to be favorites.

I think OKC and Spurs are better teams but it's close and - in the NBA - a team can get hot for a series and beat the other team.

I think Clippers give a tough series in 2nd round to OKC but next year will be their year.

Griffin and Deandre Jordan need 1 more year of seasoning before they reach their potential.

Disgrace is too strong of a word. It would definitely feel like a lost or wasted year tho. Frustrating. The Clippers are right there with OKC based on the massive improvements DAJ and BG showed this season. Durant doesn't sway me in favor of the Thunder. Can't speak for everyone else.

Nope. They had game two won and then Horry hit a baseline jumper and killed em.

That team was a real world beater... somehow managing to get through the 41 win Pacers and 47 win Raptors (Dat Vince, Mo Pete, Alvin Williams trio :oldlol: ).

Sixers never had a chance vs. Laker juggernaut. AI played out of his mind and won Game 1 (props to him on that).

Then Lakers took it seriously and reverse swept them.

If you told me that the CP3 Clippers wouldn't beat that Pacer and Raptor team from a historically bad NBA era (outside of Lakers who were an all-time great team) then you're being ridiculous.

Why is that though? Is it the coach? Management? They have such an amazing team. They should be able to win the east every year. I like their players more than that of Miami.

Seriously, this team has a year or what, two more? Before they self destruct to failure. I want to see something good out of them. Chris Paul is an amazing player. He needs a championship under his belt. He needs one.

I think too many see the Clippers as what they were and not what they could be. People see this as championship or bust for them. Yes their core isn

It should always be about how a player plays more than the result. The Clips have a bright next 5 years.

Problem is...so do the Thunder and potentially the Rockets if they find a way to improve the team.

Same with the Warriors if they can get the roster adjusted a little.

And the Blazers do as well...and ****...so do the Suns.

God damnit I hate that the Mavs have to play in the ****ing West. I really think we'd have a chance to come out of the East...how sick is that.
