the commentators comparing DeAndre Jordan to Bill Russell?

Like, if CP3 is the best PG in the league, Blake Griffin is the best PF in the game and an MVP candidate, Crawford is the 6th man of the year, Doc Rivers is a top 3 coach, and their starting center is BILL ****ING RUSSELL,

what excuses do they have for not making WCF at BARE MINIMUM? The playoffs this year should define Chris Paul as a player. He's had far too many **** ups to be excused yet again in the best situation of his career.

If he plays like a god and they lose, cool, his supporting cast was overrated. If he does his usual play like shit thing in the playoffs, he's officially one of the most overrated players ever.

Agreed. Durant also needs to win the chip this year after he gets that MVP.

How does he play like shit when he aveages 21/10/5 in the postseason?

Everybody has **** ups. Why don't you criticize Durant for his terrible Memphis series last year or his 2010 series against LA?

Yes, Durant put up 29/10/7 while his team lost in the 2nd round and he got absolutely crucified for it.

LeBron with the Cavs vs the Celtics put up 27/6/8 while his team lost in the ECF and he got absolutely crucified for it.

Chris Paul puts up 13/9/4 on 35% shooting while his team gets SWEPT in the 2nd round and no one bats an eye yet he still gets to carry the "best PG in the league title" despite being free of all criticism the greats get when their team loses.

My whole entire point in making this thread is like, the media LOVES the Clippers. To them, Blake Griffin is an MVP candidate, DeAndre Jordan is a DPOY candidate, Jamal Crawford is a 6th man of the year leader, Chris Paul is the best PG in the league, Doc is great, anytime the Clippers do an alley oop jam the commentators go crazy for them, etc.

So shouldn't it be reasonable to expect the media to hold these same Clippers accountable if they come up short in the playoffs this year?

It's as simple as this: CP3 doesn't start scoring until his team really needs it. It's annoying as phuk. If he was aggressively trying to score everygame the whole game the guy would average 30+.

Like they don't love OKC? Talking about how Durant is clearly the MVP (OVER LBJ), the GREAT veteran Fisher, most athletic point guard in the league, and one of the league's best shot blockers in Ibaka. Announcers knit pick the good on teams and talk about them. Thunder will be held accountable if they come up short like they did against Memphis.

Lol stop. Westbrook alone received more hate early on in his career (in playoffs vs Dallas, vs Spurs, etc) than the Clippers have ever received. This ain't about OKC either. Durant got his fair share of criticism last year when OKC lost despite him putting up 29/10/7.

The media wants to act like we are watching

PG: Best in the league
SG: JJ Reddick, 6th Man of the Year
SF: 3 and D, 3 and D
PF: MVP candidate
C: Bill Russell

yet when the team doesn't do shit in the playoffs we don't hear a peep of criticism from them.

I have no doubt in my mind that if you replaced Bill Russell with DeAndre Jordan the Celtics would still win a bunch of championships.

no pun intended

Doc Rivers started that comparison.

TNT's commentator said that Doc Rivers said DJ can be like a Bill Russell type player for the Clippers (Doc has said, like Russell DJ has be anchor the defense).

I know Russ has a hard time reading and comprehension, but I guess his hearing is bad too.

No your whole point in making this thread is to hate on cp3, your thesis:

" If [cp3] does his usual play like shit thing in the playoffs, he's officially one of the most overrated players ever."

As if its something that happens every single series. What joke you are.

It's not possible to be 6th all time in per if you are consistly putting up 13/9 on 35% as you alluded to. You didn't acknowledge his good playoff games because you are a hater, admit it. That 13/9 on 35% game was a blip not a trend.

His good games far outweight his bad ones.
