ESPN, the biggest news outlet on the planet.. cares a lot.

And for the right reasons. They only care about LeBron because he's like a circus. People will tune in to watch LeBron because you don't know if he's gonna choke, or say something to the media, or leave his hometown team, or whatever it may be.

Durant just shows up every day ready to work. He just wants to win, and be a good guy in the process. For someone like Durant to be plastered all over ESPN is a very very good indication that Durant is the most relevant athlete today. People care, and you do as well.

period.

Yeah he also had two straight finals mvps. Very impressive since few players can claim that. Certainly more impressive than 23 points 40 times in a row or whatever the fck the OP is trying to force on us

Capping off the greatest year for a perimeter player with an MVP and a championship.

So cool that I'm from the city that Kevin Durant plays for.

If he wins the championship this year, he will be the first player in over a decade to win it all in a year where he played over 3000 total minutes in the regular season.

Doesn't that mean he's the most valuable player ever?

Plays that many minutes, and they win that many games... and he has that much production....

uhhh....

He's only 25. He's not supposed to be this good.

Nice streak. Wilt holds the record at 126. :D

On a more interesting statistical note, the game in which Durant stopped his streak was his 400th in a row at 10+ points, which is the 9th highest double figure scoring streak ever.

Good one.

23 points vs the Kings

He'll score 22 tonight for he, "the servant", detests scoring-streaks.. or arbitrary high-water marks :lol

Of course, Wilt's record would have been extended to 147, had he not been thrown out of a game after only four minutes (and in which he had already scored 6 points)...

Αnd probably to 178 had he not sat down for a good portion (for his standards) of the last game of the 1961 season.
Interesting to know, btw, that 23 points was exactly the absolute lowest of that 126 game streak.

Of course, he could have accomplished that feat in 1200 straight games, and ESPN would completely ignore it anyway...
