Well, we are definitely due to win a game against the Spurs...seems like we haven't beaten them since the 09 playoffs...
Sick thing is that even if we win this game we aren't guaranteed of making the playoffs.
Looks like we are going to have to beat either the Suns or Grizzlies in our last 2 games if nobody loses.
Damn this is so exciting and fun...

Dallas has one of the shittiest backcourt defense in the league. They can't stop penetration, and Tony Parker feasted on them.
Since he's unavailable, then it's up to either Joseph or Patty Mills to take advantage and break down the defense with dribble drives.
The Spurs probably prefer to see the Mavericks over either the Suns or the Grizzlies in the playoffs, cuz of this reason alone.
The Grizzlies still don't have enough firepower from the perimeter to keep up with the Spurs, but they can beat them up over a long series.
The suns have a holy terror of a backcourt that can run with the Spurs and feast off of broken plays, although, they don't have enough playoff experience.

If the Mavs lose, it is kind of a double whammy, because Parker, Duncan and possibly even Manu will be sitting tomorrow against the Suns, so its likely Phoenix gets another win.
Even though I'm a Spurs fan I hope Pop rests everyone and the Suns win. I want to see Phoenix get that 7th seed and face OKC.

Yea, but the way it all works out...if we beat the Suns at home I think we make it...even if we lose to the Grizzlies in the last game.
Because we would have 33 losses. And we'd then own the tie breaker with both the Suns and Grizzlies.
This game certainly matters, but not nearly as much as the Suns and Grizzlies games the way it all breaks down.

It's better to push him into a fadeaway at least rather than the little post up-spin move under the basket he did 5-6 minutes ago (easy chip in). If he continues to make the fadeaway, more power to him (good D, better offense). Kawhi's strength is impressive though , he is guarding a 7'foot PF after all

They are basically polar opposites in experience, so I think it's fair to say Dirk's offense at this time is way better than Kawhi's man-to-man defense on 7 footers, but like I said, this is great experience late in the season when the playoff appearance is sealed and don't want to burn Duncan out (especially after an injury scare), or get Splitter or another big in foul trouble. A few defenders have picked up Dirk, but it's a great task for Kawhi, I like it from a developmental standpoint

I agree, playing behind Tim makes him need not speed offensively, and so have time to polish his offensive game, defensively the guy is already a beast, and I do not really see Pop out, at least not with tim maybe after a few seasons

The Spurs offense is so scripted that it has become obvious what they will do before they do it. It amazes me that coaches havent figured it out. Outside of Miami and OKC in the playoffs I guess. Maybe Spo and Brooks dont get enough credit.

Duncan, Leonard, Green carried him for the majority of those games and he hit one or two shots at the end of games(after missing ten during the game). You could argue that if he actually made more of his shots during the 2nd or 3rd quarter, the Heat would never have been in striking distance in game 6.
Regardless, averaging 15 ppg on terrible efficiency isn't doing much to help your team.

That was more a result of Lebron switching onto Parker than anything. Think about why the Heat put their best defender on Parker. It is because by far he's SAS's best scorer. It's tough to score when you have an athletic monster who's 6-7 inches taller guarding you. If you switched Parker with another elite pg and had Lebron guarding them as hard as he could, I doubt they would do that much better.

Duncan missed an open layup in game 7, Leonard missed the FT in game 6 that would of sealed the championship, Green went cold after they eventually started running him off the 3 point line.
And lets not forget they are an old team and were heavy underdogs, playing without HCA. Parker doesn't deserve all the blame.

Yes they were. It's not really a matter of opinion.
The spread going into the Series was Heat -5.5 points. Spurs were a bigger underdog than the 2012 Mavs to win it (the spread that year was Heat -4.5), and the Mavs were a pretty big underdog that year.
