Eh, all of Toronto's sports franchises are a ripoff considering every single one of their teams suck. Look at the Toronto Maple Leafs: haven't won the Stanley Cup since 1967 and charge the highest amount for tickets in the entire league. Raptors have been for the most part a scrub team since they've come into the NBA and the tickets are STILL rather expensive.

I can't speak for Los Angeles, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Lakers pricing rubbed off on them... #datentitlement

14 Lakers had their lowest median ticket prices in years.

MLSE has known to be great at ripping Torontonians to the max and getting away with it.

They know with Leafs epically collapsing and missing the playoff, now those Leaf fans will have to find other ways to dump their money, jump on Raps wagon instead and increase the demand. I won't be surprised if half of those in ACC during home playoff games are disgruntled Leaf fans.

Being one of the few franchises to perennially make a profit = to cashing in while you can?

Surprised @ Raps being highest though, didn't expect it. Wonder where Phoenix would rank.

You gonna try and act like the Clips wont be winning the Pacific Division for the foreseeable future?

Two top 5 players locked down long-term. Clippers ain't going anywhere.

Do you talk about anything other than the Heat, its fans, and LeBron?

Anyways, the average Heat ticket price this RS was ~$60. Since you're talking about median, then yeah. They're gonna be expensive as **** depending on the team that they're playing against.

Pretty much - in regards to MLSE digging holes into the pockets of Torontonians. Going to a Leaf game is no thrifty night.

With that said, the ACC has never been more boisterous and popping than when the Raptors have been in the post season. MANY of the attendees at Leaf games are there to talk stocks, shares and corporate mumbo jumbo... Makes me sick

Can't say I'm surprised, though. I knew MLSE would jack these prices. The lowest early bids were @ $78. :oldlol:

The fact that the Leafers dropped the ball surely has something to do with the rise as well...

Let's converge at Maple Leaf square and go black bloc on these greedy suits...

It's because a TON of those seats are bought off way in advance by corporations and given away to clients as incentive to sign off on deals. There are fewer tickets to go around for REAL fans after. It's really disgusting. I remember I once got courtside seats from my boss once because I wasn't taking my vacation days. The seats were amazing but I was surrounded by old men in suits and their trophy lady friends... ZERO appreciation from them towards the game. It was reaaaaally quiet. Go back up a few rows and you'll easily be surrounded by fans that really get into the game and you can have a conversation with ABOUT the game.

Heh, funny...

Although what's NOT funny is media coverage:

Raptors make the playoffs and all the networks will continue to slobber all over the c*cks of the scrub leafs players failing to make the playoffs. It *always* happens. Canada greatly disrespects basketball.

I'm pretty sure the night Ross put up 51, Darren Dutchysen opened up Sportscentre covering the Leaf loss from hockey night in Canada lol.

No love.

Kudos to Tim & Sid for being one of the few radio shows that gives the team a fair shake.

this is the worst season in Laker history, we are missing our best player and the team is compiled of scrubs who will have trouble finding minutes in the NBA next year.

Try making a conference finals before you puff out your chest..in case you forgot, we've got more finals appearances in the past 14 years than your entire franchise has playoff appearances

and when/if the Clippers get bounced before the conference finals, i hope you'll re consider your opinion of the Clippers having "2 top 5 players"..

Sportsnet cut out the NBA All Star MVP presentation to show Olympic hockey news about some coach's drama. THAT was more important than the All Star MVP award ceremony.

A week ago they cut out the last 10 seconds of the Raptors-Bucks game where it went down to the wire.

These prices are just for the 1st round tickets, so Miami is facing Bobcats, which nobody would exactly pay top dollar for.

Things are changing in L.A. The lakers have a poor owner and they will be pretty bad to average at best for years. The Clippers have two of the best players in the league and are fun to watch. They are going to be good for awhile. So tickets sells will go up..it's called demand. Even celebrities like Paul McCartney are enjoying watching the better product in L.A...the Clippers.

2001 was the only year both teams have both advanced past the 1st round at the same time. 2002 was the last time the Leafs made to the ECF. I agree, though, it's pretty sad it's been so long.

Yeah, especially now;

Leafs out of the playoff picture and they're all going stupid over the Brendan Shanahan news as if he's going to make an impact during the game. The PLAYERS win games, not a teams president. Yet now you've got the Raptors basically going for a franchise record wins, clinching a division title AND making the playoffs and theres nearly ZERO mention of that.

Total fvcking bullshit.

Oooh, ouch, :lol I love how you're such a true hardcore Laker fan and I want to ask you, how would you feel if the Clippers went to the finals? Do you really wish for them to fail or would you enjoy that Finals excitement of an LA team being in the finals? Surely you would root for them over the Heat?

Los Angeles basketball fans are overprivileged. It's long overdue for them to be finally out of the picture and shake things up in the NBA with other teams enjoying success. A lot of people that follow other sports have made the same complaint about basketball: it's too repetitive in terms of teams winning the championship over and over again.

Los Angeles Lakers basketball fans, you mean? Because being a Clippers fan (me? since the Danny Manning and Mark Jackson era), hasn't exactly been the greatest....

I did enjoy watching Magic's comeback around that time, though.. that mid 90s Lakers team was niiiice.
