Bosh:
16.2 ppg, 6.6 rbs, 1.1 assists, 52% FG (19 ,000,000 $ Salary)

Odom:
14.4 ppg, 8.7 rbs, 3.0 assists, 53% FG ( 8,000,000$ Salary)

Who was the better third option?

Bosh is a franchise player who could lead his own team, where he's the best player, to the playoffs all by himself.

I am not talking about ''could'' , ''if'', etc. I am not talking about who actually played better.

Serious?

No version of Lamar Odom is even close to Bosh this year.

But I'd consider Lamar IF $$ was taken into consideration....MAYBE.

Eastern Conference All-Star or X-Factor to back-to-back titles? Depends on the team, I would probably take Bosh. Lamar was incredibly good back then though, one of the most versatile players at his size. It's a damn shame to see someone that good sink so quickly. :(

Their stats look pretty close to me. Actually, I would give the edge to Odom stats wise.

Considering the price, Odom without question.

But Bosh is a star and makes Miami's offense/defense work. He isnt replaceable.

I really thought Bosh would step up his game when Wade went down, but he actually played worse. :facepalm

Odom=Role player

Bosh=Superstar

Even for the hate he gets hes a solid player that anyone would want on their squad....cant really say that about crackhead Odom.

Bosh single handedly proved that you can't rely on numbers or stats to evaluate players

Bosh had a significantly higher RAPM than Pau Gasol for the 2000s decade and almost every poster here would have taken him over Gasol in 2009

But when it comes to fitting into a championship team, you can easily see how replaceable Bosh is

Bosh made Hibbert and Duncan look like Hakeem and Kareem last playoffs while averaging 12 and 7 during the playoffs including 0 point in game 7 of the finals. How would have Gasol done?

How would have Gasol done?He did pretty well against Duncan in 2008 and against Dwight in 2009, and we all know what he did against Garnett in 2010. Although, he did get punked by Garnett in 2008. Use that as your point of reference I guess :confusedshrug:

I hate the way stans underrated roleplayers for stars.

Odom was good. So is Bosh. Despite being inconsistent.

This is a prime example of people living in the corners of stat sheets and box scores :facepalm

And, as usual, it's a LeBron fan doing it.

I get the numbers almost always support you all's idol, and so your weapon of choice in discussions is statistics. Hey, cool story. But, the game is played on the court, and the paper is just an extension of metrics used to supplement what the eye sees. It's not always telling on its own, and can be misleading.

Current Bosh on that 2011 Lakers squad...not saying they'd be worldbeaters, but his game would have complemented Kobe and Pau due to his mid-range prowess.

2011 Odom swapped in for current Bosh on the Heat....the Heat surely worsen as they lose that dimension to their offensive scheme. They gain another ball handler and slasher, but Odom was even more inconsistent than Bosh this year if you remember correctly, and Bron would be carrying an even steeper load offensively on a nightly basis because of it.

I mean, what's the point of this thread really OP? Do you expect anyone objective and agenda-less to surmise that Odom has ever been better/more valuable than Bosh?

no he wasn't. Lamar Odom is the definition of an inconsistent player.Depends. I saw him getting 12/8 a game at least. Certain games of the playoffs are anomalies though.

Lamar Odom is tremendously talented but the dude is and always has been inconsistent, he's known for it.

I really like Odom, but his inconsistency has followed him around his entire career

Considering the salary, Lamar it is. Heat could get a real center and cruise to the title.

Odom was the definition of inconsistent during his tenure with LA.

Guy would post 17 8 and 5 one game and 8 4 and 4 the very next.

Lamar averaged 7.6/6.6 in the 2010 Finals.

Anyone who thinks he was ever better than Bosh is a moron.

Brilliant stuff. Using your box score insight, 2006 Odom is pretty much 2014 Duncan's equal!

15/9/6 vs 15/10/3

Just no.

The Miami Odom who averaged 16, 9 and 5 and led the team to the playoffs was better than any Miami Bosh.
