Exum isn't going to drop that far. Parker announcing Wednesday... during Duke's team banquet. I doubt he announces he's declaring in that spotlight.

I don't mind Randle, Gordon, Smart, Vonleh for 6-9th pick (worst case scenario) Of course, if Lakers land jackpot in the lottery...

So, LAL is locked in at the 6th spot now right? Or is there a chance they still advance per the lottery balls?

What a sad way to end the season. And not sad in the unhappy way, sad in the embarrassing, have fun not having a young prospect to nurture into a superstar on a wholesale value contract kind of way :applause: :facepalm

But for real, It's gonna be a tough road in which the Laker fans will have a reality check of how bad it can get for a franchise these next couple of years.

I believe 5th is possible (well, would be a tie for 5th, I think there's a coin flip) if we lose our last and Boston wins.

Doesn't sound like much of a consolation, but if Jabari declares, 5th might be the last chance to get a legit franchise player.

I don't think might is the correct operative word. I know you're trying to be realistic, but if Jabari declares 5th is the last chance to get a sure bet, transcendent talent.

Maybe a diamond or two emerges later on. But as it stands, Wiggins, Parker, Embiid, Randle, and Exum are on another level then those other players currently.

And, the crystal ball is reading that Jabari will remain in school. So....yeah.

Me either man. The draft, FA, and if we get new head coach for next season will be big on what to expect next season.

Does LA need a franchise player in this draft? I don't think any team is more attractive to free agents than the Lakers, and with Kobe retiring soon, you can pitch "be the face of the Lakers". Just land a good #2 in this draft (which I think there will be plenty) and take your shot in the free agency in the next couple seasons.

Kobe's health for next season is also a BIG question mark.

If the Lakers...or any team....can receive a talent like Anthony Davis or Damian Lilard on a dirt cheap (rookie) contract, it enables them to use that extra cash elsewhere to further build their roster.

I'm sure LA will lure talent out West as the years pass, but they'll be missing out big time if they wind up with a mere role player with their lottery pick after the kind of season they've had.

Man. That team is backwards. They choose to exhibit pride in winning games now? :oldlol:

I'm a big believer in drafting a big so if it comes to these two, they should go for Vonleh. He's massively underrated and has the potential to be a star in the NBA.
He is physically ready and arguably has a better offensive skill set than most PF in the league right now.

I am not anticipating an announcement on Jabari Parker's decision today. Doesn't want to overshadow tonight's team banquet

Maybe I misread as he was announcing on the team banquet day and not at. My bad.

The latter of that quote is interesting. Doesn't want to overshadow? Could be interpreted either way, but it sounds more like he's declaring to me.

Agree 100%. Doesn't really help the Lakers, but it makes the draft deeper.
