Everyone assumes that the Miami Heat will just roll through the first round of the playoffs, but there is one possible early matchup that could end up like the movie 300, with the dominant army being upended by a team that fights together, is a master of defensive tactics and has a strong and massively scary, King Leonidas-like leader.

That would be the Charlotte Bobcats, led by 6'10", 289-pound Al Jefferson, who was recently named the Eastern Conference Player of the Month for March after averaging 24.7 points, 10.6 rebounds and shooting 55.5 percent from the field. So far this month, he's even better at 26.6 points and 13.7 rebounds for the 42-39 Bobcats, who are back in the playoffs for the first time in four years.

You might just overlook the Bobcats' success because they never appear on national television

Big Al deserved Hibbert's All Star spot :applause:

"It's great," he said. "I'm happy to see a guy like Al embody what the game used to be when we were playing, when there were a lot more bigs. These days, most of the bigs want to be on the perimeter shooting threes and stuff like that. So it feels good to see him get in there and mix it up, but also be able to step out and shoot the face-up jump shot."

Ewing played on the perimeter too.

big al seriously might average wilt numbers vs. the heat in the first round. looks like lebron will have to average 9-10rpg this series to win.

You do know that Al called his opponent the Spurs the next world champs after game 3 the last time he was in the playoffs? Sound like the kind of mindset that's going to beat the 2 time defending champs?

Once again, you somehow found a way to insert your Lebron cocksvcking line on an otherwise unrelated thread

That dedication :applause:

It's a shame.

Indeed :facepalm

**** him though, he's not efficient, scoring 22 ong 51% He needs like 19 shots to get 22 points.. ***** can't get that KD treatment and it's his fault that his team is bottom 10 in 3pt shooting not giving much floor spacing to operate.

is that why they're 5 spots higher than they were last year and are shooting 35.2% from 3 this year as opposed to 33.5% last year without him? **** outta here clown

Ewing didn't face up on the perimeter regularly?

Ewing had a jumper but he was mainly a post-up scorer, especially when he was younger.

I remember him facing up more and more as the years went on.

Ewing was more back-to-the-basket post player until his knees gave up on him. What you saw was Ewing after 94.
