View Full Version : Wow. It's been nearly 2 years since Rose went down.

It's almost been 2 years since Rose went down in the 2012 playoffs with the torn ACL. He's played only 10 regular season games since then. :(

I really hope he can recover. This blows. He was so fun to watch. This Bulls team would be so scary right now if they had a healthy Rose along with Noah the way he's been playing this season and Butler, Taj, Boozer, Dunleavy, etc. I really hope the Bulls are right for sitting him out this entire season and he can come back next season and be back to 100%.

I'd love to see the old D-Rose have a long and dominant career like he should have had, but fact is he'll never be the same. What a shame.

We need to get Melo for offense and whatever we can get from Rose. I have no confidence in Rose staying healthy whatsoever.:(

Although I don't really care about Rose I feel you, OP. I really miss Kobe like you do Rose.

I really want to see Rose come back at 100%. But I'm not entirely opposed to trading him anymore. I'd do it for the first pick in the draft or for another elite point guard like Westbrook or Rondo. But I just want to see him back at 100%. It sucks so much that this happened. It was such a good thing the Bulls had going. He was the hometown guy leading the team, the way the Bulls even got him in the draft that year is still crazy. He had just won MVP the season before he went down, the Bulls had the best record in the NBA in back to back seasons with Rose and Thibs.

Roses career is pretty much done. He'll play again, but he's never gonna be seen as a franchise type player again. He's on the list of players with careers ruined by constant injuries.

I honestly enjoy watching the Bulls more without him and Deng tbh

I don't get why a lot of people are saying this. If he had come back and looked absolutely horrible during preseason and the 10 games he did play in the regular season, I could see why people might think he's done. But he didn't play horrible. He was a little rusty sure. But he was as athletic as ever. And this is a completely different injury to a different knee. It's not like he came back and re-injured his other knee. I have hope.

that was pretty much what happened

he didn't look fluid and devoid of explosiveness...

with or without rose, the bulls are going to the playoff! but they should have tanked the season specially with those top 5 prospects coming out of the college...i would have loved to have joel embiid or andrew wiggins on a bulls uniform.

Looks like he's going to be a better version of Brandon Roy, sadly. Both extremely talented players cut short by a freak injury(or 2 in Rose's case).

Oden 2.0?

Oden never did anything prior to the injury though. He showed a lot of potential & he was coming up, but Rose had some solid years, won an MVP & led his team to the ECF.

Freak Injury? Roys' knee basically self destructed, Derrick Rose had a meniscus tear and an ACL tear quite common and well researched injuries a number of players have successfully recoverd form. Blake Griffin, Bledsoe,J.R Smith, Westbrook, CP3,Wade all had a meniscus tear and they are still some of the most athletic players in the L. As for torn ACLs Big Al, David West, Jamal Crawford, Lowry,Rubio,Shumpert,Rondo
Certainly not a death sentence, but i guess he's going to need a year or more to return back to top form
