Smart rookie. :applause:
Exum made his full-time U.S. arrival in February to prepare for the draft, working in Los Angeles with Michael Jordan's legendary trainer, Tim Grover. As the intensity around the NBA draft heats up, there will be plenty more to discover about the Aussie basketball phenom.
Dante Exum says he will limit his private workouts so teams ahead of the Lakers won't see him
http://lakerholicz.com/lakers-draft-rumors-dante-exum/2014/04/22
If you look at some of the NBA mock drafts out there, that would mean the Lakers would be selecting either Aaron Gordon, Noah Vonleh or Marcus Smart.
That’s unless one of the higher-ranked prospects falls down the board of course, and according to Mark Heisler from Forbes.com, a certain Australian point guard may find himself in sixth or seventh territory.
“There’s also a guerilla scenario haunting GMs around the NBA: Australian point guard Dante Exum, ranked by some as the second best player in the draft, falls to the Lakers at No. 6 or 7 after agent Rob Pelinka–yes, the one who reps Kobe–keeps him from working out for other teams,” Hesiler writes. “Exum looks like he’s on board, calling the Lakers his ‘best option.’”
As some of you may recall, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard the rumor of Dante Exum’s agent, Rob Pelinka, possibly limiting his client’s workouts in order for him to fall into the lap of the Lakers.
Pelinka tried this stunt before when Dion Waiters entered the draft a couple of years ago, though the Cleveland Cavaliers selected the guard from Syracuse despite not having the chance to see him workout.
Still, with all the big names declaring for this year’s draft, it may not be that far fetched to imagine Exum slipping to the sixth spot, especially if a team hasn’t had a chance to get a good look at the 18-year-old.
Unlike Waiters, Exum didn’t play college basketball.

Only way for him to be a Laker now is to start threatening teams and force his way to LA.
He'll have to think hard about it
With Lakers potentially picking 6-9th, there is no way he'll slide off that far, unless other teams aren't looking for guards, or that they're cautious about him because of his lack of exposure
If Lakers get lucky in the lottery and sneak in to top 3, then I don't think they'll even draft him. They'll be looking to get Embiid,Wiggins, and Parker (should he declare)

Idk man. I like Exum, and I've been high on him since the start, but that last game against Utah significantly reduced the Lakers' chances of drafting him.
He'll have to discourage the teams picking before the Lakers in order for him to be playing for his favorite team.
Either he'll keep quiet and get drafted by other teams, or he and his agent starts threatening teams to force his way to LA. Should he do the latter, there's also a good chance other teams will call his bluff.

Well, could be. His two-way potential is not that far off from Wiggins and Embiid.
Just hoping he gets drafted in a team with a good environment. Not necessarily the Lakers, but any team that doesn't have a losing culture

But it's cute that he thinks he has a legit amount of leverage.

Lakers would draft Wiggins, Embiid, or Parker should they win the lottery (top 3 is 21%)
Biggest threat for the Lakers when it comes to Exum are the Magic, because should they fail in drafting Wiggins or Parker, they'll definitely draft Exum.
Boston still has Avery Bradley and Rondo. That being said, they could possibly just move Bradley elsewhere.

Even though Embiid got injured, I would hope that teams won't let him slip past top 7.
He is too talented and skilled to go late. Big men with his running ability, skill and game are hard to come by.
Really don't know how Exum will go in the NBA. A lot of talented players don't always perform at NBA level. Not playing college and coming from Australia, he may not be NBA ready early in his career but may become so after a few years.
Embiid, Randle, Wiggins, Parker look the goods though.

Meh. I think you should play where you're drafted and not force your way anywhere. You are blessed enough to do something many would want to, and you're already acting like a douche from the get go. Just my opinion. I hated when Stevie Franchise did it to Toronto, and the way Kobe and Magic went about things too.
No biggie though. I actually hope Exum lands on a decent team with a bit of history. Sixers, Lakers or Celtics would be great. He is Aussie, so I'm hoping he turns out great.
