To have ever played in the D-League? I just saw his face on the commercial and now I'm trying to think of other really good players who were in the D-League for a little while.

Jeremy Lin. Gerald Green. Danny Green. Marcin Gortat. Like 80% of the Lakers roster.

That's all I can remember.

I want to say JJ Barea. Gortat is up there also, so is Danny Green and Gerald Green.

Mike Harris is the d-league version of Michael Jordan. He's playing overseas now btw.

Oh damn I didn't know Gortat was in the D-League before. I think he's my pick now.

I think Bobby Simmons may have the only individual NBA award that came from the D-League. He won the Most Improved Player award.

No because Jeremy Lamb played in the D League last year.

Talking about anyone who has played in the D-League or undrafted players from the D-League. Terrence Jones was actually drafted in the first round but was just sent down so he could get playing time.

Good point. Its much different if a player is undrafted or waived and makes their way back up through the D-League than a player sent down to get a few games in. Those guys don't need to be worried about being called up by a team. Jeremy Lin's journey is much more impressive than Jones.

Damn that's a very good point. That's probably why I forgot he was ever there.

[QUOTE]Many former NBA draftees, waived players and undrafted players have played in the NBA D-League. Some of the called-up D-League players that went on to have successful NBA careers include Rafer Alston, Louis Amundson, Chris Andersen, Kelenna Azubuike, Matt Barnes, Devin Brown, Will Bynum, Matt Carroll, Eddie Gill, Stephen Graham, Jason Hart, Chuck Hayes, Anthony Johnson, Dahntay Jones, Jamario Moon, Mikki Moore, Smush Parker, Bobby Simmons, Ime Udoka, Von Wafer, C. J. Watson, and Mike Wilks.[18] Aside from these players, there are several successful NBA players who were assigned to the D-League in their first and second season, such as Jos

I don't think anybody would disagree with Gortat, but Lin? I can't agree with that one.

 Jeremy Lamb is not better than Terrence Jones..

And at this point it's debateable if even Jeremy Lin is.. Seeing how his confidence is in the crapper, he's highly inconsistent, and he's lost his job to a undrafted player who played overseas. Jeremy Lin isn't the lightning in a bottle Linsanity... He's a backup PG.

This is Jones first real season in the league.. He's only going to get better whereas Lin has mostly maxed out so let's revisit this thread in a few seasons.. It's too early to tell right now.

Well you've watched more Lin than I have so I'll defer to you on that one. I've seen flashes of a legitimate offensive engine when he gets extended playing time

Imo Terrence Jones is better than Lin is. Doesn't get the hype obviously, but he's a really solid player.

Gortat seems to be the best of the bunch and, after him, I'm partial to Matt Barnes.

Not even the best on his own team (Beverley)

Didn't Rondo get posted to the D-league during his rehab? Did he play a game?

Nope. Just one practice and then immediately recalled.

Never said he was the best... But he does start over Lin and has been the better player this year.
